Got in last night, got up this morning. Fall is trying to slide in.
It was cool and crispy this morning, low humidity, temp didn't even rise to 80 until sometime toward lunch.
The big multi-colored spiders are weaving their webs. It's not full tilt yet but it's trying. When the little white flowers come that tales the tale.
So, it's time to change the guard here. I just put the Sunset on the Marsh ducks up for the desktop to run for awhile.
Most grass that pops up in spots everytime I get home looks more like the grass you find on the beach after the season has gone.
I can't wait to see some neon yellow thump paint highly waxed with polished chrome underneath through the full face shield of a cool weather helmet.
Next month will be Blues Highway / River Road / Highway 61 from New Orleans to Memphis. It's gonna be late in the month. Anybody that wants to get in on it let me know. I figure a couple of days or so to find my way to Memphis, layover for a night or whatever and then do whatever seems good.

Memphis. Where the leaves change color and fall off the trees. Home.

Late next month (either the second weekend or the last...haven't decided yet which) the puppy and I will be in TN/KY camping. We'll be cold. But it's going to be a good time.

Crisp in Memphis, where you stand close to the bbq stand to stay warm.

Put on my blue suede shoes and I
Boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
W.C. Handy
Won't you look down over me
Yeah, I got a first class ticket
But I'm as blue as a boy can be

Then I'm walking in Memphis
I was walking with my feet 10 feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel

Saw the ghost of Elvis
On Union Avenue
Followed him up to the gates of Graceland
Then I watched him walk right through
Now, security they did not see him
They just huddled round his tomb
But there's a pretty little thing
Waiting for the king
Down in the jungle room

When I was walking in Memphis
I was walking with my feet 10 feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel

Now, they've got catfish on the table
They've got gospel in the air
The Reverend Green, be glad to see you
When you haven't got a prayer

But boy you got a prayer in Memphis

Now, Muriel plays piano
Every Friday at the Hollywood
And they brought me down to see her
And they asked me if I would
Do a little number
And I sang with all my might
She said, "Tell me are you a Christian, child?"
And I said, "Ma'am, I am tonight!"

Walking in Memphis
I was walking with my feet 10 feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel

Walking in Memphis
I was walking with my feet 10 feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel

Put on my blue suede shoes and I
Boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain

My daddy and my grandparents are all buried in Memphis, and Mama will be too someday. Me too, I guess. Sissy had her ashes scattered in different places in the world, but her name is on Daddy & Mama's headstone. In Memphis. Wouldn't want to live there again, miss it.
