I've always heard of people that eat pet food. Is it good on those crackers? Do you warm it up first with that sterno?

I don't know, IGID. A couple of those MRE's I had after Katrina kinda reminded me of things I fed my dog. Makes you appreciate our soldiers that much more. Filet Mignon it ain't.

Or the delight when I found my first package of Peanut M&Ms. Sigh. It was heaven, in a yellow package. :smt118

The sterno is to boil water for coffee. I can handle anything life throws at me if I have a cup of coffee in my hand. The catfood is for cats. I would rather go hungry myself than have to listen to a cat gripe about his food. They say, "hurricane, shmurricane, where's our dinner!"
Did the MRE's have instant coffee? I have those Folger's coffee bags that you dunk in the boiling water. Not like REAL coffee, but a darn sight better than instant!

As much as you love your coffee, Hermione, you should invest in a camp stove and a camping coffee pot that Mr. Coffee has out. :) You'd love it. :)

The Giant Felines would say that I have my priorities in order!!

I stock up in June and stay stocked up. Of course that means I have a lot of stuff purchased in 2006 that has to be used up this winter!

Unbelievable! My bride - who works in a "responsible" role for a large Stage gency - called me while ago to tell me she had to go work in a "shelter" they were opening in Pearl River County TODAY! This ain't nothing but election year over-kill. At the same time she called, I was watching the Weather Channel which said it ain't even gonna RAIN in our area until in the morning sometime!

Good grief!

Hermione

Hmm, Gus, maybe they're just getting set up ahead of time. People are going to be skittish and a lot may be heading for shelter tonight.

I have a hair appointment in Ocean Springs tomorrow morning at 10:00. Think I should go on and get up at 7:00 so I'll be presentable and on the road by 8:30-ish or should I stay tucked up in the bed? :smt102

I like rainy days, there good for watching westerns and old war movies, plus other things I shouldn't have to mention.
Nothing beats a good old western or war movie. I'd love to see COMBAT reruns come back. Remember Vic Morrow?

The weather station boyz and girlz have been bored this year, so they're doing their best to talk up dis lil TD like a major event. We prolly get a lil rain, maybe. and maybe 20 MPH wind. :smt102
I want a job as a weatherman on a TV station. I could pull forecasts out of my arse and still do better than they do. How do they keep their jobs. This ain't baseball where 1 out of 3 is a great career.:smt118

You don't know abnormal until you check out a really attractive blonde walking down the street with a really nice figure lookin' hot in a skirt, an then once she's right in front of you you notice her gigantic adam's apple.
Yeah, I miss San Francisco.

Reminds me of a joke about a woman like that an a truck driver.:smt118

And I'm grateful for the fizzle. Though a rainy pajama-day would be just fine with me tomorrow.

"They" say the rain should move into our area tonight and be a wet one tomorrow. From what I have seen and heard it looks like the perfect little depression for us, I just hope tornados don't spin off all over southern Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
Maybe we will just get a much needed 3" of rain out of it.
I worked until 10 pm tonight outside to get all the remaining chores done that were pressing in case it's a soaker tomorrow.

So far it's been a nothing storm for us. I haven't heard a single drop of rain hit the ground yet.
I'm thankful for all the news coverage of this otherwise I wouldn't have made sure we were prepared for this storm.

btw; shrimping sucked to day but it aint over

What about fishing? Hubby is trying to talk me into going fishing today on coast. He said fishing good because of the weather. I have my suspicions though. I think he just wants to see me fuss if I get rained on in the boat.

Many boat put in at the launch this AM, so others tink de fishing may be guut, also. We'll know in a couple hours how they were biting.

All we're getting from the TD is hot, muggy; hardly a trace of clouds or breeze. I see another low headed our way from the yuckatan, a fast mover dat we may get some sky juice out of by Mon or Tues.

I see the eye of TD #10 is about dead center on de 'Burg.

I caught a 6 lbder' (bass) on the ultralight this mornin'....it was awesome!
Good fishin' day. And alot...I mean A LOT of doves hit the dirt around Sumrall today....jeez......If someone is readin' this bring me some dove...you don't even have to clean em' I know there was at least 10 thousand killed out there today....:smt023:cry:

It was enough to get my shoes stuck in the muck over at Tatum park for soccer opening day. What a joy it was to sit in the rain and watch the kids get soaked and splatter mud all over the car later. :smt118 ( I knew I should not have gone with the beige interior...)

It sure looked like a lot more rain yesterday than my rain gauge says it was. I only had 1/4" when I emptied it last night.

CB-It won't be long and the kids will be grown. Seems like yesterday mine were little. And when they get grown you'll be broke still from paying for college. It's to the point now that I'm hoping my nursing home will at least have new curtains.

I'm not paying for college. No one paid for my college. College is a privilege, not a right, IMO. He's going to know early on that if he wants a free ride at school, he better study up and make A's. That's how I did it the first time... this time around, I'm going on student loans and 80 hour weeks during the summer.
