Hello All.

Haven't had much time to be online but thot I've give a brief report from just north of Cocodrie, LA @ Lapeyrouse's campgrounds/shrimping camp.

We arrived on Sunday afternoon. North winds had the tides messed up and shrimping was poor, but anglers were still bringing in nices catches of beautiful reds from the marshes.

Last evening, the the wids changed a little and we has a much better high tide and the 15 count jumbo white shrimp were plentiful. Our squaws netted around 25 lbs last night, and we'll have them casting again starting around 5PM until the outgoing tide subsides.

We are having a ball, eating free seafood everyday. Crabs are so plentiful that the shrimp boat capts are giving away hampers for free. They are not fat yet, but you can't beat the price. Some of our camping neighbors have caught so much Red Fish, their freezers are full and they're giving away fish every afternoon.

God, we are eating and laying around like fat hogs, except for the 4-5 shrimp run each afternoon. The weather has been very comfortable with constant breeze. The skeeters are bad only a couple hours around dusk and we hose down one another with skeeter dope. They're a minor problem in the sceme of all thing considered.

Our neighbor on the other side is an old full blooded coony who sings and plays de best cajun/french live music every night and has also taught the squaws a lot mo good stuff about how to trow a good halo wiff a 6ft net.

Well, I must go for now and start fire for grilling reds and de-head an ice chest full of jumbo whites.

I am in my element and don't want to come home. Calling me "Sorry" (lazy) rat now would be a huge understatement.
