There is a car phenomenon I have seen for a couple of years in Hattiesburg and have only now found out the terminology for them. If there is some one in the know please share your input. What I’m talking about are the cars you may have seen with raised suspension, high dollar big rim wheels and a logo paint job of some product i.e.; Welch’s grape Juice, Hawaiian Punch, Buick, Polo and others I’ve seen but can’t recall

It doesn’t matter if it has 28" rims or 15" rims or if it is completely STOCK.
DONK is a 1971-1976 Caprice or Impala. Mid-'70s Impala, Caprice and Monte Carlo or any mid-'70s ride with a sloping tail that is a donk

A BOX is a 1977-1990 Caprice or Impala, mid-'80s Impala, Caprice and Monte Carlo or any mid-'80s ride with a boxy rear clip

A BUBBLE is a 1991-1996 Caprice or Impala, '90s Caprices and Impalas, '90s rides that are rounded on both ends

What ones have you seen ?

I've seen the mid 90's caprice (rounded version) with a McDonald's paint scheme rolling around the 'burg before

My husband and I like to look for them when we're out riding around. You can kinda predict which neighborhoods you'll find them in. He's fascinated with this weird phenomenon as well, but the thing we don't get is why they paint the corporate logos onto the cars. Anyway, he says they're all called donks-- it can be a bubble donk or a box donk.

It's like the CocaCola Jeans that were all the rage I guess. You pay to advertise for them. I think they match the companies to the paint job of the cars.

I think there is another program where you can get $ to fix up your car if you advertise on it.

I did a Chevy car for a guy a while back that wasn't even getting compensated for it. He just wanted to look like he was getting compensated for it. Apparently there is some prestige attached to getting paid to rent your car for advertising.

I've seen one or two in Columbia. I think I'm going to get mine painted like a box of Midol. :) I bet I would get all the room I needed on the road. Watch out! Here comes the Midol Jeep!

These cars are the most ridiculous, dumbest looking pieces of sh*t ever known to man. Incredible wastes of time and money.

Being somewhat of a car guy...the biggest thing that irritates about this whole deal is: the fact that these clowns will take a true Impala SS, ruin its value (either current or future) by jacking it up, cutting sheet metal to make those ugly assed big wheels fit or painting it like a box of Froot Loops. I mean, if youre gonna do it fine....do it to a base model caprice, dont ruin a SS...because if and when you decide to sell it...there sure as hell aint gonna be anyone want to buy it.

Ha! I live next to Club Memories (unfortunately, as multiple nights out of the week, the uninspired bass lines put up by their horrid excuse of a dj are my lullabies). I'm all too familiar with these logo cars you speak of.

I can't wait until I see an seafoam/turquoise impala that says "always (http://individual.utoronto.ca/cya/image/always.jpg)" on the side.
