Ok, let me give everyone the secret to MLB. I hinted at this as the reason we need to start putting MLB odds in vBookie, but the advice wasn't taken. So, it's a bonus for you. First, go to this page: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/gaming/sheridan.htm, then look at the MLB odds for today. What you want to do is bet a proportional amount of money on teams to win according to odds. What does that mean? Well, basically, I only bet on teams that have at least 8:5 or 16:10 odds. This means Boston and Minnesota would get a $100,000 bet from me. Higher odds? Then go higher money. 2:1 gets $200,000-$250,000. The last count of my record was 16-20 using this method. You will not win all of your bets. That's why they call it gambling. You will win a majority on most days, and if you lose on one day, it probably won't be that much. If you care about your money, don't bet on football while MLB is in season with no odds. It's just bad business. MLB is too easy. I bet on football because I have plenty of money and it's the only way I'd be interested in some of the games. MLB, I never watch, I just use that link, bet on the games, and win money for the upcoming football weekend.

Buy you are 16-20? I guess bettin' on higher odds brings in more money and the lower the odds the less YOU bet.
Do I have that right? Or wrong?

That's right. Higher odds means more chance they win on that page. Cleveland has a 2 to 1 chance to win.

I hate to disagree with you but look at my bets yesterday and look at the odds. I lost my ass on the higher odds. And that wasn't the first time this season.

In baseball, any team can beat any other team on any given day of the week. Doesn't matter if it's the best record playing the worst.

$300,000 on an 8:5? Your killing yourself. You have to play the odds, that is what they are there for. Sure, any team can beat any team on any day. It happens in football and basketball too. The odds are there because they should win. And given good odds, that the majority of the time, they will win. Play the odds, spread your bets, and you'll win. Don't sink all your money into two teams, even if it's 3:1. Put money on every team that has 8:5 or better to win. This is mathematics. Your actual bet should reflect how much you have in the bank to gamble. Obviously, people with $200,000 cannot bet $100,000 on every team. If I had to set it to a number, I'd say you should bet 40-50% of your total everyday. So, you might bet $20,000 on an 8:5. You won't double your money tomorrow. Out of 6 bets, you might just win 4, but over time, your set up to increase your holdings.

Yeah, if you have a system that works, that's great. The thing is, MLB works. It will make you the most money. I was trying to let Fish-Bait and others that are trying to get their money up know my system. It's just plain dumb to bet on football games with odds when MLB with no odds is going on. Regular season will be over in a few days, and then it's going to be much tougher to make money on here, so get your bets in now.

Yep, I was doin' good with my 25 or 28 million until you tampered with your system. I prolly would be hub buck king almighty...:-D:kekeke:

For two people that see things quite differently, our bets look awfully similar tonight! :)

So the mets are still alive but barely.. :smt102

If they miss the post season I see a coach looking for a new job.. Who else will be out of a job on monday?

I miss the good ole days of Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. Back in the day, he'd fire his manager for not winning the World Series. Under the old George, Joe Torre certainly would have been gone after blowing the 3-0 lead against the Red Sox in the ALCS in 2004. Not paying close attention to baseball managers and their current tenures, it'd be hard to predict who is going.

They are in a serious slump and at the wrong time of the season. Everyone has them, and I wouldn't blame it on the coach. Two months ago, no one thought the Yankees had a chance at even a wild card.

I predict Tampa Bay, Florida, Kansas City & the Mets will be looking for new managers..

maybe the Braves?

No sour grapes here. The Brewers handed the NL Central to the Cubs on a silver platter. After a sweep by the lowly Marlins, I'd be a little worried if I were a Cub fan. (Plus, Milwaukee will still hopefully win both Rookie of the Year and NL MVP this year)

Virgo, I was hoping your Brewers would do it this year, they were so strong most of the season. I can't believe the Marlins whipped them like they did.

I'm not a Cubs fan, but I wish the Cubs the best. It's been a while!

Thanks. The Brewers weren't supposed to win it this year anyway, at least that is what everyone said at the beginning of the year. Most people said next year would look good because of all of our young players (who will all be back). I really don't think we are going to lose any of them (and they happen to be our very best players).

I don't think I can root for the Cubs this year. I just don't think they are that great of a team.

And look at Florida. They swept the Cubs and they beat the Mets last night. What a party spoiler! Good for them!

Notwithstanding the Marlins series, the Cubs have played very well the past month. For whatever reason, the Cubs don't play well against the Marlins, and haven't the past two seasons.

Given the Cubs history (no NL Pennant since 1945 and no World Series championship since 1908 ), I'm certainly not predicting a World Series victory. However, anytime they make these runs, I have to be just a little excited. At least the Brewers have made a World Series in our lifetimes (losing 4-3 to the Cards in 1982 when they were an AL team)

I was there.

The Cubs are cursed. I may have to go buy a goat

But, I also remember the Curse of the Bambino and that was vanquished in 2004. Go Cubs!
