Old appliances often appear at the entrance to the dump on Gravel Pit Rd on weekend mornings. You might also try going by the "White Goods" deposit they have in Lamar County on certain Saturdays. Forrest County probably has one too, but I'm not sure. PM me if you need more info and I'll see what I can find out for you.

I never been to the haunted forrest. Is it something 'old' people would like too? I have an old chair but you would have to get hubby out of it, please.

The Haunted Forest is fun for everyone or ALL AGES!!! Last year, my hubby & I went with a group of "adult" friends (at least they're adult in age not necessarily in mind) and it was a blast!!!

If you do go, go real early (don't know times and am wondering.

Boyfriend and I went one year and it quit before we could get to go in. The line was forever and I understand it raises a lot of money for Fire Department. Correct me if I am wrong.

I was kind of glad we couldn't go in. (I was hungry and just wanted to go eat supper) Boyfriend likes Halloween and I just go along and hang onto him since I am a scairdy cat. It did sound fun and exciting (and spooky) and it's always a sellout for all ages.

Yes the Haunted forest does raise money for the fire department and yes the wait is usually very long. I wish we could figure out how to cut down the wait time but its just not possible and still let people get their moneys worth. We try to start when it gets dark, which will be about 7:30. I suggest you to get there about an hour early or either come very late. But hey some people tell me they don't mind waiting in line just meeting new people and socializing. We do try to do things to keep the crowd entertained while they are waiting in line so it makes the time pass quicker.

Only 11 days left until the opening night of the Haunted Forest. This year is going to be bigger and better than ever. We have spent hours in the woods clearing and rebuilding. Almost everything will be different this year. We still need old appliaances and tin if anyone can help. also old flat sheets. If anyone close by has some old sheets they would like to donate please let me know. I look foward to seeing everyone running out of the woods with wet pants. Thanks for everyones support.

Two great pieces of advice.....Gravel Pit Road is your more likely bet though, since the White Goods was Saturday, and is always the 2nd Saturday of the month.....they've already hauled off Saturday's trash and won't be back until after Halloween.
