I drove by 37th av & Hardy st today and the Pizza hut is no longer there. I saw people eating there over the weekend? A big pile of rubble now.. :smt009

Is that the one across from KFC and applebees? If it is they are rebuilding. I ate there the other day and they had sign on door about closing. So I asked why. Employee said new building opening later on.

Weird, I swear it was there when I passed it this morning.
It's nice that they're getting a new building but sad for the old one to be gone. I grew up three blocks from there and watched them build that one. It was so great to have a Pizza Hut on our end of town, especially one within walking distance.

No halo. You on your own with that comment. I'll be over here with the fire extinguishner and cell phone for 911 if you need it.

Yeah Pizza Cave was a bit much, maybe it should have been Pizza Cabin instead. :smt023

As a matter of fact, you're just a few years younger than the old building yourself! :-D

Yes ma'm, I remember when I used to ride my bike over to Roses Dept Store and then I'd pedal over to the Hut for a cold drink. :-D

I remember when Roses sold guns. I bought a dragunov semi auto there for 60 bucks.
Also, I heard that Pizza Hut got it's name because the sign Co. charged by the letter and that was the shortest name the original owners could think of.

If they tore down the Pizza Hut in Petal, or the Pizza Hut on East Hardy, it would be an improvement. :police:

I could be wrong but didn't the pizzas taste different back then. I think maybe a little sweeter sauce. Remember the paper tents you carried them home in?

If you consider the way Hardy Street has expanded westward across I-59, then that Pizza Hut is on East Hardy.
Which would make "East Hardy" East East Hardy. :-D

Yep, but all the old timers around here call the "east" east Hardy St., River Ave. which is what it was named when I was little...the old timers around here will remember that I am sure...I still call it that out of habit.

Is the Pizza Hut at Hwy 49 / 31st still there?
I think the Pizza Hut in Petal is the worst around. The few times I've been there the service was awful.:smt103
On payday weeks my co-workers & I all pull together and get a pizza on Saturday or Sunday for lunch. But someone has to go pick it up...Purvis Pizza Hut doesn't deliver.
