During the past month since I have made the move to Lamar county I have had to drive the length of hwy42 from just West of Sumrall to 49 on my way to work. I have been passed while traveling 60 mph prolly more than 50 times by lazy people who don't know how to get to work on time....It usually looks like they are warming up for the first lap of Taledega behind me in the mornings with all of the weaving in and out of the lane to see if they can squeeze out a quick blast to get in between me and the vehicle in front of me only to realize I get to 49 just as quick as they do. Not even a second between us...:smt102

This morning as I drove down the Sumrall Salt Flats (my new nickname for this stretch of road) Nice, lovely blue lights flashin'....not once, but twice!!! Mr. Troopers...thanks for givin' them folks some drivin' awards!!!
Glad to see ya'll out that way scratchin' out papers to them lazy drivers with lead feets!!!!! Good Job!:police:

And a friendly reminder to those of us who drive that stretch. The speed limit is 55, not 82.......:smt118

I would also like to remind people that the speed limit on the parkway is 55, not 80. I would love to see more MHP's there. The ones I especially love are the ones that get almost up to your bumper before they move over into the left lane, then move back in front of you almost before they have cleared your front bumper. Makes me so mad!!!!!:smt071

You should get a "Good Citizenship" award...You are potentially saving them from a "speeding tax", and saving wear-and-tear on their vehicles. When I help people out like that, they often speed up alongside me and tell me that I am "Number 1". :no: :laugh:

At least when they leave the blinker on, they have your attention. It was just fresh on my mind because yesterday when I was heading home, some moron in a little VW in front of me had no brake or turn signals. He apparently made a last-second decision to grab some pork rinds or something, and whipped into the Minit mart. He almost got a Chevrolet enema. Big trucks don't stop as fast as little cars! I did let him know that he was "Number 1" in my book. :laugh: And no, PI, it wasn't THAT VW.

PLEASE don't ask them to put more cops out there. I can't drive 55 on a road that wide. Even my cruise control seems to rebel.
