Bass are still foraging in the shallows as water temps remained at 80.2 surface temp in Lake Serene. Other waters will have the fish in the same type of areas. Topwater bites abound in the morning, but if the fish get wary, have a weightless soft plastic jerkbait to follow up on strikes where the fish don't commit to the bite. Took 9 this morning in an hour and a half.

Caught some good bass(green trout) on the goula river on a 3 hooked kelly worm. The fish were right on the bank(edge of grass) had a blast.

Last time I was down there around Paige I caught 6 in a ditch leadin' back to a small lake. One was about a 3 pounder. I spooked about a 5 or 6 pounder. It was layin' in a wallow in about a foot of water. Can't get nuthin' bigger than the whaler back there though on low tide and I had trouble in the whaler.......Now, the next tournament you fish down there let me know and I'll map it for you....Caught em' all on a purple slug-go and 8lb. test spinnin' tackle. That shallow water gets mighty clear on low tide!:smt023

Yeah you are right. I like ripping them out of laydowns with a jig. You and I still owe each other a Bouie River trip!

Rob, They were 1.5 to 2lb. Some were smaller, only had a little bit of time before storm come up and had to leave.
