Weather Channel is indicating a tornado warning that appears to be more to the north, as toward the Rawls Springs area.

The Safest Place To Be During A Tornado Is In A Basement. Get Under A Workbench Or Other Piece Of Sturdy Furniture. Nothing I hate more than driving in bad weather. Wonderful travel from Columbia to Oak Grove. :( Glad I'm home - and of course it's stopped raining now.

Anybody know if it's true there was a tornado along EGP? A friend was driving along it and said he saw 2 18wheelers turned over and tons of trees down.... his sister had called him and said she had heard there had been a tornado through there... any truth to it?

There was lots of wind and lightening at my house..I just checked and I had gotten 1.5 inches of rain in my rain gauge...I never heard the USM sirens go off...although I usually do...maybe they were drowned out by all the rain and wind...????

We had a gully washer of a rain storm here in Petal, & some lightening & thunder. I did not know that Forrest County was under a tornado warning earlier! Yikes! :smt118:ohnoes: I wonder why my brand new Midland radio that I just bought at Walgreens a couple of weeks ago did not go off like it is supposed to??? WDAM people programmed it for me.:confused:

That's not much of a news article if there was a tornado. I don't live very far from there and my lights went off for about 2-3 hours, but I didn't hear anything. I got up this morning thinking I could read some news about what had gone on...

It's true. CJ Morgan Construction got hit on Eatonville Rd. and some houses had their roofs ripped off on Monroe Rd.. My electricity was off from 8pm till midnight because of it.
I was surprised that Channel 7 broke into programming a few times last night to keep folks posted on the bad weather. They did a fairly good job of keeping up.
Why they didn't use RAIN as the lead in top story of the night I didn't understand. They chose to talk about things that are in the news everyday.

spoke to no-halo last night- he was the first to respond to a wreck over there-
i heard 2 things:
1) a tree beat his ass
2) wdam had to buy new cameras this morning since they got him on tv last night and it tore up dem dere cheap things they got
