NEW YORK (Reuters) - Work colleagues who spend their day gossiping, organizing their home lives, or who press "reply all" on e-mails are among the biggest nuisances in the office, according to a survey released on Monday.
A poll on the biggest pet peeves in the workplace by market researcher Harris Interactive found 60 percent of 2,429 U.S. respondents listed gossip as the biggest annoyance.
Messiness in communal spaces, such as unwashed dishes in the kitchen sinks, irked 45 percent of respondent while potent smells like perfume, food, or smoke, came in fourth in the list with 42 percent.
Rounding out the list of seven office peeves came loud noises such as speaker phones, loud talking and loud phone ring tones at 41 percent, overuse of electronic personal communications devices in meetings at 28 percent and misuse of e-mail at 22 percent.

I can't stand it when someone pages you from a phone over the entire intercom. All they have to do is dial your extension...I don't get it. It's two more buttons to push. WTH?
You are just sittin' at your desk and then "Fish-Bait, call 344!!!!"
when all they have to do is call me at 345...I don't get it. The numbers are posted on the phone....jeeez.

I hate it when people say that they are gonna do something (like when I do investing for people), then they decide that they would rather take that $50 month and spend it on Budweiser =P

I hate it when people are bragging about how little work they do. I'm here to work, that's what I get paid to do. I don't get paid to talk about UTI's...

My favorite thing is to go through the check out line at a grocery store and the cashier never even looks at me. I then make it a point to insist that she/he talks to me. Now I am not asking that they have to learn my family history but just that they say, "How are you today? Did you find everything you needed?" You know stuff like that. My hubby can embarrass you when he tells employees that are not helpful, "I hate you got to do your job." And he tells them without any hesitation.

Once worked with a lady who had food stored in every available space in her cubby. Needless to say, we had bugs. Plus her cubby was visible from the customer area, and was a messy disgrace. I'm not Ms Clean Desk, but I've never been a health hazard . . .

I used to have a pet peeve, but I couldn't figure out what to feed it and it died.

My number one pet peeve is cattiness!!! I just refuse to speak to or acknowledge people like that anymore... I am really fortunate that for the time being I have a great job without many "pet peeves"... I am extremely grateful for the fun projects and am finding that I have less and less tollerance for dealing with psycho people in the office...

Honey, you my dear friend will never have to worry about having that trait. You are the exact opposite from my perspective!

The only way a guy can be catty is if he's gay.
It's true, you can look it up on wikipeadia.
