The restaurant, Wagon Wheel Steakhouse, that will be in front of the new hotel on 42 at the Perry/Forrest county line will be openning up today. I think I may have to go try it out. C.B. you may not want to try it cause of those lax building codes they have out there in the county and all since it's not in the city limits. You know they got that thing up and running really fast not having all that red tape and all to deal with so that shoddy building practices you insinuated in the other thread may make it unsafe. I, however, have no problem with businesses outside of the city limits and will probably therefore try it tonight cause I need a big ol bloody steak to hit the spot tonight. May have to wait till tomorrow though cause I don't know what time I'll be able to get finished with the days chores today.:-D

Back about twenty one years ago my first date with my hubby was at the Wagon Wheel Restuarant. It was on Hwy 49 S. Next to the place where Mexican Kitchen use to be. I actually even remember that Wagon Wheel being in the same building as the mexican kitchen once too.

I think this place is fairly close to where I live. It would be nice to have a steak house that's not all the way the hell down into Hattiesburg.
Full report after you do go. Price, service, atmosphere...etc.

Wow, The Stone Toad! I remember playing there with a few different bands I was in before and after college. Tal used to make a grand show of paying at the end of the night. We'd sit on opposite sides of a pool table and he would slowly count out the amount agreed upon before playing. Then he'd take out a pistol, lay it on the table, and start deducting for bar tabs, etc. and then would try to get money for electricity usage if you had a light show or large sound system! Absolutely the worst club owner/manager that I've ever dealt with. Went to see a lot of bands there when in Hattiesburg the first time (David and the Giants, anyone?) Good times! The Wagon Wheel had that delicious home baked load of bread brought to your table when seated. Decent food as I recall, but the bread was something really special. Thanks for the memories!

I remember every time John Travolta did a new movie, they changed the theme to the bar. Once it was disco around Saturday Night Fever then it switched to Urban Cowboy.
Could anyone top the millions that Tal's made and lost?

apparently he owned a percent of petro and eddie petro didnt like that he had a chance of owning the dealership once he passed on so they got in an argument and was politely asked to leave.
