That doggie is adorable. I just can't pay for a pure bred when there are soooooo many sweet mutts in shelters that need a home. I have six and if I had more land I'd have more.

$3800 for a dog? Are you kidding me? That's a down payment on a car. Or half a year's worth of rent.

What could Southern Pines Animal Shelter, or the no-kill shelter in Lamar County do with $3800?

Looks like a sissy and imagine what it would look like after a romp thru the beggar lice, kookaburras, and briars. I have to give that thang a GI haircut, high and tight. he'd never survive the farm...a chicken hawk would make a meal of him/her.
That is definately an inside, lap dog.

Now Hawk those little sweeties don't belong outside. They do their tinkles on paper in the house!!
But look at the size....I'm thinking my mouses would try to breed with it...it is sooooooo dang cute!

So do any of you own Yorkies? I'm thinking I wont one!

I guess whatever guilty pleasure you spend your money on, there is always someone that could have put the money to better use. No matter if it's $20.00 on a meal or $500.00 on a dog or in this case $3800! :(
Someone GAVE me a teacup Yorkie when I was about 15. Her tongue hung out of the side of her mouth, and her name was Kissy. She was 7 years old, and had some health problems. They were tired of dealing with her, they said. When I took her to the vet, he got really pissed while he was examining her. They had broken her sternum and never had it checked out, so it was grown back the wrong way and caused her pain. She also had a skin infection and other signs of abuse. The family that had her had young children, so we assumed they had been rough with her and the parents didn't stop it or take care of the dog when they hurt her.
Anyway, we got her healthy and gave her a good life for another 7 years or so, and she made a good dog. Tiny, and strange, but a good dog.

Have you ever noticed the yorkie in Auburnfan's avatar?....He's real and he's really in one of those measuring bowls for weight watchers setting on the bar....Check him out sometime...I'll try to get her to post here...Of course he doesn't still look like that, but he was a doll.......

Thanks Oldlady I don't guess I've ever chatted with Auburnfan or noticed her avatar. I'm going to check it out.
And Mac thanks for that story that was so wonderful of you all to take good care of her and give her love she had not known. She probably though she had died and gone over the rainbow.

Oh, so true~ it is adorable. I was just thinking of dogs in general, and how the prices of some of them seem so out of touch with reality.

No, I just thought it was a funny picture. My Yorky didn't have that many teeth, and the dogs I have now are giant and hairy.

I have a regular yorkie that only weighs about four pounds. That's small enough for me. He's always getting stumbled over and has been stepped on accidentally. He's AKC and didn't cost but about $200. ;)

You are soooo right Hermone...they are just dogs not a human baby. So I understand that! And that amount is so out of touch with reality.:smt103

Oh Scarlett 4 lbs is tiny to me!!! I think the tea cups are too fragile for my house whole of rambunctious girls.
