Any people hear on their scanners about the wreck on 98W? There were at least 7 patrol cars and 2 ambulance. One more was one the way as I pulled into my neighborhood.

I saw one person put into the amb. They looked really small, I hope it wasn't a child. :smt086It looked like a white cherokee and a dark large car (kind of Grand Marqueish).

It was really busy in that area all day. Newpointe had their open house.

IMO, the stretch of 98 between the King Road/Old 11 intersection and 589 at Bellevue is dangerous.

With the additional commercial development in that area, there are more vehicles driving slow to make turns.

Traveling west in the left lane, to turn into east or west Lake Serene (or some of the other side roads or other residential developments) requires driving a bit slower, too.

I know the left lane is supposed to be the "faster" lane, but drivers need to realize there are commercial and residential developments on 98 west that vehicles need to be able to access from the left lane.

No we heard nothing as hubby don't even turn it on...he just can't get it programed. I guess us old folks are just too dumb for this programing stuff. He said when #1 Son comes by he was going to get him to check it out.

I agree with Kitty..when my office was on Hwy 98, I was scared to death that I was going to get rear ended on numerous occasions. I was glad when MDOT lowered the speed limit to 55MPH to just past my old location. I personally think it should now be 55MPH until just west of Hwy 589/Bellevue.

That was uncalled for...my office was on Highway 98 from early 2005 until about a year ago, when I moved to my current location.

Changes are going to happen on hwy 98. Red lights are going to be installed at Canebreak, Cole Road, and Gravel Pit rd. This should all happen soon. It will slow down traffic, but it will slow down traffic, (if you know what I'm talking about!)

As much as I hate it, I think these are needed.... especially at Gravel pit and Canebrake. Cole road though? I've never noticed as much of a traffic problem there.

Also, I had heard that Gravel Pit was eventually going to be re-routed to where is comes out at whatever subdivision/redlight that is a little further east on 98... that may have just been a rumor though...

I can see the need for traffic lights at all of the aforementioned intersections on 98.

The sister of one of my daughter's friends was in an accident (resulting in a totaled vehicle as well as a pretty bad leg injury) at the 98/Cole Road intersection a year or so ago.

I guess my thing is... there's been wrecks nearly everywhere.. some worse than others. I just hate to see more traffic lights in places unless they're VERY much needed. Which it may be at Cole & 98... I just hadn't noticed much of a prob there. Course I rarely have to cross 98 from that particular intersection...

well, if all the grovers would get off the phone and pay attention to the road there wouldn't be all those problems.

you don't see that many hhs folks with that common sense problem.

prime example of a great oak grove edumication:

satan was the saluditorian or whatever of her class. we see a train yesterday on the way to church full of f250's and other various ford stuff. satan asks me how they get them out. WTF are you talking about i ask- she believed that a crane reached in a lifted them out. A CRANE LIFTED THEM OUT. i told her they drove them out, and she had the nerve to ask me how.

then she proceded to tell me like she thought we opened the roof and lifted cars into the showroom, except for small cars. we took them apart and put them together in the showroom. not like there are 2 sets of really big doors that we drive them thru.

come to think of it, a lot of people fall for that "take them apart and put them together" scheme-

Part of the justification for red light is increase in traffic, but primarily it is b/c of the River of Life Preschool and now Elementary school at that intersection.

come to think of it, a lot of people fall for that "take them apart and put them together" scheme-I thought there was a tunnel, and a hydraulic floor, and midgets, and liquor involved in all that. And now you say it's simply big doors. Hmmm.
