I think these housing designs would be more affordable for most families!

Heck yes, he mi_Nombre_es when do you think the housing market will go down? I am so shocked at the prices of houses here, especially in little towns like I live in. In Oklahoma you could live in a town bigger than Jackson in a really nice house for 150k (gated community), here you pay that just to live in a regular house in a small town.
I think its crazy, I think I want to move if things don't change soon when I ever decide to buy my house. As they sit right now, I can get more bang for my buck in a different state.

You can? I got a 3br/2ba house in OG with Sunroom, 2 car garage and 1.25 acres of land for 100K, after I put down 20K down payment. This house was bulit for us =) I know this same house in Mandeville, LA is around 470K
As for the prices going down, just wait, you'll find some deals soon, houses will flood the market in a few months when more of the ARMs adjust back to the non-option rate and people find their payments double or triple with no equity in their homes to re-fi. More homeowners will have distress sales and willing to wheel and deal on price.

I lived about thirty minutes from Tulsa, when I was in Oklahoma for the majority of my life.
The town I lived in, was not as big as hattiesburg, but Tulsa is about ten times the size of hattiesburg, we had a mall , red lobster, two movie theaters and alot more where I lived.
The house we sold, was in a school district, two car garage, 3/2 , big back yard, fenced in, with a enclosed patio. Very nice house to live in , cozy.
We sold it fully furnished for 70k , when I lived in dewey (very small town almost as small as collins) a small town outside of Bartlesville, we bought 69.5 acres of land, a two car garage seperated, a two car garage shop with tons of storage space, along with a two story barn. House was a 3/2 , two living areas, with a sunroom
The land had a pond, all for 140k
I go to prentiss and see houses that are nice houses dont get me wrong, but I see people asking 90 k for them,
My Great Grandparents passed away (bless there heart) , and the house appraised out at 70k I was shocked because to be honest I would of not appraised the house , compared to the town and size/condition at more thank 40k.
But then again I guess MIssissippi is a whole different ball game. I hear people talk about houses hear like its the same everywhere on prices but I promise its not.

Pooker, you will find places that have more affordable houses than the Hattiesburg area....but in most places, it will cost you a whole lot more for the same type of house.
That second house is pretty cool. You could fish out your window.
