I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can talk about the different avatars (especially if they are photographs) we chose and why. Many of us change avatars often, so try to post a photo of your current avatar...

I'll go first.

My current avatar of the beautiful leaves was taken last week as I drove to Frankfort, KY. The ride sure was beautiful with lots of colorful leaves. This was one of many photos I took.

I chose my "moody muse" from a collection of drawings that I identify with. In larger renderings the word "enough" appears under the image. It is appropriate to my life in more ways than I can describe.

For those who don't but dig geneaology, I've had sailors, pirates, soldiers, patriots, seafaring celts, and ass kicking ancestors, so I went with a pirate theme.

That's tough. I liked of of them, but for different reasons. Gary wins at the sheer absurdity of situational comedy, but Watterson could paint a beautiful picture using childlike wit to look at the world.

A truly fantastic thread... Thanks for starting it! My avatar is none other than my now three legged best friend. He had gone through an amputation a little over a year ago. He was diagnosed with bone cancer and sad to say he lost a leg, went through chemo. But I still have him so it was a small price to pay for my buddies love... Well you maybe one of those people that can ride and pay attention to what is going on around them... I am just too scared of them... My goofy brother who is the epitome o concentration was riding his on 7th and a car almost hit him... Between the massive bruise on his leg that swole to the size of a basketball and the ER Doctor not properly treating it he almost bled to death on the ride home... Freak accident yes... Some people call me a freak though so freak accidents would certainly happen to me... I do believe those who ride started at an early enough age for it to become second nature for them...
Now another thing... That sure is a purty hat Honey... Catches me eye whenever I log on here and you have been in the thread...

It is such a pretty bike, and it goes too fast. I back seat ride and am a nervous wreck the whole time. The 1st time I rode my dang lips wrapped around my ears...LOL
All in all it is a sweet smoooth ride, best Harley there is. I wish I had the nerve to learn to drive. been years and I was a yougin on a Honda in the field...:laugh:
