I saw the Incredible Holiday Light Show trees at Lowes last weekend for under $300... My wife sat there in the patio area, pressing the button and watching the lights and music for a good 15 minutes. I swear, it was kind of like being in Disney world... It was so cool... but looks kinda lame now that it's kinda worn on. here's a video:

also, Walmart is selling this item where you can make your own for under $100.

Yeah, I saw those at Home Depot yesterday and wondered WTF? Didn't think they were awesome, just irritating.
Then again, I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas decorations. Kinda think that inflatable yard art is a sign of the apocalypse.
That looks more like Vegas than Christmas. I think it would make my living room look my house was surrounded by cop cars. I don't care too much for the inflatables either, but to each his own.

You got that right jmb! IMO, it is tacky just like Vegas! I would be afraid that the constant changing of the colors of lights would give me a migraine and make me hurl! I have never cared for the on/off of the tree lights..leave the suckers burn until it is time to cut them off.
I don't mind tham blinking some, but not flashing like a marquee! lol

I wouldn't have put them INSIDE my home. I think it's an outside decoration.
But I'm with fuzzis on the inflatables. They were neat the first year they were out. Now it's just an excuse to look like you really did something spectacular, when you really only plugged in a cord.

looks like the big box stores took one person's idea (see below) from 3 years ago and are now trying to market it for everyone. This is why there is no originality left.

For all we know, that guy, if I remember was some sort of programmer, patented the product and marketed himself.
In any case, it's cool.
And that guy was just copying what fireworks people have been doing forever.
