I'm not thankful for my shortcomings.
Most of the time I do well but occasionally I slip into weakness and become impatient with others and I think when I do that that it makes them feel less than who they are and subordinate. If it's a family member it takes days to get over it and the memory of it will rear it's ugly head as a sad memory to me.
Some things need to be brought up but the wear and tear on you personally sometimes is not worth the effort for you or for them.

* I am not thankful that we must send young men and woman to a foreign country that doesn't want us there. We are losing people who could have developed a cure for cancer, led the economy into a huge upswing or stopped world hunger but now, we will never know what they could have accomplished with their lives.

* I am not thankful that our president, who we put all our faith in, has been so cowboy and gun-ho about this war. I bet it would be much different if he was losing family members over there. Right now Bush is planning a wedding for one of his daughters, while families plans funerals for soldiers killed because of his actions.
