i went to go pick up some food today at McAlisters West and saw a cat that i knew was hungry and was either a stray, got lost or whatever. it didnt run from me and was friendly. i cannot keep a cat for several reasons and i dont know if its just lost but its definitely not wild.
it has a gray top and white on the bottom and some gray markings around the nose area. right now its snoring on my couch with no care in the world after i gave it some cat food.
would anyone be interested or know someone that has interest? if you love animals and are devoted and committed to keeping an animal then i would agree to meet somewhere so that i could give it to you.
i have to make sure it hasnt been chipped to confirm whether or not it actually belongs to someone so stay tuned. i just wanted to get the word out about it to see if anyone was interested.
thanks!
Awwww. I wish I could, but I've currently got two cats and two dogs. No room at this inn.

I like cats, but I already have two dogs and we travel too much for a cat. Good luck on finding a home....
I just now remembered we're going to be out of town for two nights this week, and I have TWO DOGS to find a kennel for! (The cats are pretty independent, and will be fine for two nights.) Last year we only had one dog, and I waited until the last minute and only found a place to board her because someone had decided not to leave theirs at the last minute. I might be in trouble this time...Anyone have a teenager who'd like to make a few bucks for feeding a couple mutts?

I wish I could take it. I love cats...but I already have two that pretty much take over everything. I feed so many strays that I'm already spending serious dough on cat food.

i called Petsmart and they said that pine belt animal shelter doesnt put down the animals because they have so many volunteers. southern pines animal shelter this past year aout of 7,000+ animals that came in , they put down about 6,000 of them. as big as hattiesburg is, i find it hard to believe that there isnt enough people to take animals in.
i am going to go to the vet to check on a microchip to make sure it doesnt belong to someone to make sure it wasnt lost. after that if there is no chip then i will take it to pine belt. thats my plan.

I would try some of the vet's and see if they can show it for adoption..
My last 3 cats I got from All animal at 268-8880 on Oak Grove Road.
I still have 2 cats and like the staff and vets.

It's right after you turn right onto Oak Grove Rd off of Mayfair...on the left. That's actually where I got kitty #8 (the one in the dryer in my pic)

screw you dude
my woman found a kitten in the yard about a month ago and his leg was hurt
guess who took him to the vet?
guess who DIDNT take him to the vet to be put down
guess what certain kitten has a bum leg with major nerve damage
guess what certain kitten is going to the vet at 730 in the morning to have said bum leg removed
guess who gets to keep him
guess who is about to drop 4.5 bennies to make this a reality
you keep the cat...so i dont feel so bad about keeping this one

well southern pines does put animals down. i would never take it there. Pine belt does not although they mainly take dogs.
good news though.. i took it to the animal ER this morning on hardy st and a lady at the desk has a sister that is looking for a cat and so i am keeping the cat at work in my office then bring it by to the lady and the animal ER when i get off work.
at least i was humane enough to pick it up, let it spend the night, feed it and give it water...i had no intentions at any point of it being put down, i dunno where you got that from. the animal is not micro-chipped so i can give it away.

thats not the case
i meant for my woman to take him to the vet to have him put down...but she didnt...instead she brought him home
i like him now though...which is why he shoudl be getting his leg lopped off right about now

when i called petsmart i didnt realize that southern pines puts most of their down. so far this year he told me that had 7,000 come in to the shelter and theyve adopted away about 1,000. the rest have been put down, mainly adults.
that is really really sad.

it's depressing. i am a big believer in the "don't shop...adopt" philosophy. it is hard not to take all of them when you go to the pound, though...

My cat hasn't come around in 5 days now. I'm worried. She sometimes roams for days but she's never been gone this long. My dogs miss her, too.

my cat now has 3 legs and a large green bandage wrapped around his entire shaven torso
he isnt thrilled but is apparently feeling good enough to harass the dogs...even though he still struggles to stand up
he tried to jump off the couch a while ago while we werent paying attention and he landed with what i consider to be an unhealthy thud
ill drug him up in the morning though

that cat is an amazing specimen of how a feline should behave
he was up on the counter this morning taking his medication being shoved down his throat via syringe like a big boy this morning
he even licked the bubblegum flavor of the keflex off of his lips where i missed...
just because he walked in the door and immediately began to harass the dogs means absolutely nothing

aww Dollfus- I love goldens! We just lost a close family "friend" last week. It just wasn't the same not having her over to play with my golden retriever at my parents house today... oh, but I don't need a roomate.
Now mom has adopted the neighbors cat... we feed her and she comes inside. Her and Sebastian had their first encounter this afternoon... it went okay I guess. She has claws, he doesn't- so we had to stop them a couple times from gettin in to it when Sebastian was trying to sniff her butt.
