I really think Baby is terrified of water. As soon as the water (warm, not hot or cold) hits her she is clawing squirming like a cat trying to get out...I think this is more than I don't want a bath thingy.
Either way how can I help her to relax, and enjoy it,
If you live at my house you gonna git a bath.

Ask your vet and the poor thing is probably afraid it's hair will weight him/her down and she/he could drown.
I think they are to be lap dogs of royalty not swimmers.

my little slick mini dox hates water too. one thing that helps is using a butter bowl to pour water on her instead of spraying her with the sprayer.

My is................We try to put him in the pool with us and he has a fit. Of course he did fall in when he was a puppy. Hates a bath, also............On the other hand, I have a friend whose Yorkie loves to get in the pool and float around on a raft.

Bring him out to the homestead. We'll chunk him in the shallow end of the pond a few times. He'll figure out that it ain't gonna' hurt him. :):dog:

My friend has a Yorkie that LOVES a bath!! Once, the friend was cleaning his house and had the tub filled with water with bleach in it- and the dog jumped in!! It was quite a fiasco (sp?)!
Our poodle also hates a bath... she's small, so we bathe her in the big laundry room sink instead of the tub, and talk really sweet to her and rub behind her ears. How big is your Yorkie? Too big for a sink?

Some animals are different i had a german shepard mix , who loved splashing in the pool but as soon as i got the dog shampoo out he ran , all my cats hated water though.
its best to use a massaging sprayer that lets out warm water, if ya can get em in the water thats what they like the best.

My parents used to have a yorkie. They just lost her in August, but she was 16 years old. She hated to get baths, but loved to go swimming....so who knows!!! :smt102
