Results from regional dramafest held November 30 and December 1 at USM:
Hattiesburg High School chosen to represent Southeast Mississippi, and Oak Grove High School chosen to represent Southwest Mississippi, at Mississippi Theater Association's annual dramafest, i.e. the state-wide competition in January.
Congrats to our talented local high schools (and especially to you Baby Bustin).

And I forgot -
Hattiesburg High won Best Director, Best Actresss and Best Ensemble for their region. I think they may have gotten a couple of other awards too. And Oak Grove won Best Actor, Best Set, Best Costume Design, Best Director, and had three students named to All-Star Cast for their region.
YEA!

Congratulations to both schools! We do have some talented kids in the Pine Belt. I find it sort of funny, however, that Hattiesburg and Oak Grove are placed in separate regions of the state. I always thought they were pretty close. Good luck to both of them in the state competition!:smt023

I thought so, too. However, I know in football, for example, Northwest Rankin and Brandon, two 5A schools in Rankin County, are in different regions.

It's nice to see some of our local schools pushing something other than sports-- especially football :)
