I will but I've not heard anything else about it. There's nothing on the WDAM website and am a bit lost as to why....
I missed the beginning of MidDay. If anyone saw it, did they mention anything about it???

I'm praying that the person who told me this was misinformed!

I heard it and had our dispatch call their dispatch, nothing to it from what we hear. It appeared to be a prank call.

That's not a good prank...I hope they find who did it.

A source has told me that there was NO gun, but a child was talking about bringing one....
I'd check out the news this evening, I'm sure it'll be on there...

WJTV (airing as WHLT in Laurel/Hattiesburg) reported on its midday news program that Magee HS was on lock down because someone placed a call stating someone had a gun at the school.

WJTV was sending a news crew down to Magee and said they will have an update on its news broadcast this evening.

Thank God there was nothing to it! Surely they can trace the call, see who made it, and hopefully find out WHY they would do something like that??? :smt102

I don't know WHO, but I can tell you WHY.

It disrupted classes for 2 1/2 hours.

Well not necessarily... Someone could've used spoofcard.com or a similar company, to change the caller ID. Then the local police would have to submit a lot of paper work to find out who did it. A VERY unlucky family in LA found out how much it sucks to have the SWAT team break down the doors, when some jerk phoned in using a fake caller ID and reported that he'd just killed some family members and was holding the rest hostage... The Police did a wonderful job, but it was a faked caller ID... If I could remember the link to where I read about this I'd post it.... It's supposedly a new 'fun' activity for bored teens.
