Procrastinators unite!

I don't know about anyone else, but I've had the worse time this year getting into the shopping mood. The decorations are up and everything is looking festive, I just can't drag up the energy to tackle the crowds, figure out what to buy everyone, and GIT'R DONE. :(

Anyone else suffering from this affliction this year? I usually keep a spring in my step and have completed my list by now - not this year. I've shopped one day and picked up very few things. Now, as JMB keeps reminding me with her signature, it's only 14 days till Christmas. Sigh. I don't want to be shopping Christmas Eve, but it sure is looking probable.

I don't have so much shopping to do, but I do have projects to complete. Like a friend's wedding scrapbook. And a fake book for the MS dad. And printing out pictures and painting photo frames white for my best friend. I suppose maybe I'll start tackling that this weekend. :(

Welcome to the CSPC!! I'll be busy this weekend too! Just determined to NOT shop on Christmas Eve.

Amandah, you're not alone. Jason's graduation present arrived yesterday, I've ordered and received the big presents for two of the kids, and that's it. The boys all gave me lists but it's all stuff that has to be ordered. Plus, I need to get my sister and her husband's gifts bought, wrapped, and shipped. I must make myself sit down today and get the boys' stuff ordered. I have my daughter's big present, but need to finish hers out with clothes. That won't be too hard. Wanna give me a nudge? :-D

I did a little shopping last night, and the stores and highways were basically empty. It was nice to go inside and not have to fight the crowds, but I would have thought it would have been busier.

I got an email from a friend this morning, and she said that she hoped it quit snowing where she lives by tomorrow because tomorrow is her shopping day. Her boss gives everyone a half day off, PAID, to get their Christmas shopping done. I want to work where she works. :smt118

That's pretty neat - but I still like my full week off at Christmas. :smt118 Gives me a chance to hit the "After Christmas" Sales.

I don't get it. I've spent this afternoon working up an Amazon.com order. Of the seven items, six are in stock, one is not. No matter what form of shipping I use, even the expensvie-a$$ 1-day, this is what I get...
Estimated ship date for these 7 items: December 27, 2007 - January 10, 2008.
WTF???

Can you place the order for the one thing separately? It would appear to me that they're waiting for everything to be in stock before shipping...

That helped. I took off the one not in stock plus the game I just ordered through Gamestop and the shipping date jumped up to Dec. 17. I dumped the super-saver shipping and went to standard and now the ship date is tomorrow. Much better.

I don't know where my head was at but thank you for the suggestion. I owe you big time. :)

Oh yes....I have to start shopping soon...have no desire to do it, but it must be done!!! Kids have a list, but I haven't had the "want to" to get out and start shopping...I don't like to shop much less shop and have to deal with tons of people!!! Not feeling very festive but I've got to quit procrastinating!!!

I'm not finished either and usually I am by now.:confused::confused: For some reason and I know it's a crazy thought, I think it's the weather. It's just hard to get in that spirit with it so hot outside!!!!!!!!:smt009:smt009:smt009:smt009

I have two more gifts to get and haven't because I have no clue of what to get. One is for a cousin who I barely know (we draw names at the big family function I never go to). All I know is that he likes LSU (poor guy). I've looked online at LSU stuff for tailgaters, but I just keep thinking how unmasculine the colors are. I was looking at a collapsible cooler thingy, but it's purple! And it's more than I want to pay out of my Christmas gift budget. I'm about to the point of giving him a Target gift card and let him get what he wants.

After a day with 1200 teenagers, who feels like shopping? I can barely drag myself out to the truck and go home!

I would start internet shopping for everything, but I don't have the time for that either. I need a private office like that chicken guy has.

It makes me feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one in the "bah-humbug" frame of mind. Maybe we all need some incentive. Maybe we should all commit to going out Saturday and while out buying ourselves a nice bottle of wine to celebrate with when we get home.

Nah, I don't even think booze can make this ordeal any easier. :smt118

I'm going to try to get my shopping done later this week. I've been meaning to post in here all day but I just kept putting it off.

I haven't been able to get into the holiday spirit this year and I blame it on the weather. Who feels like buying gifts when it's 85+ degrees outside. I was literally sweating this weekend while out shopping. Sunday was the worst. But I'm finished except for buying my father-in-law and my hubby...

I finally got my head in gear ( and out of my rear) and with a little help from my friends here, got most of my shopping done online yestserday. There are a few people left on the list and I plan on getting them done this weekend.

Life is good! :-D

Food and wine gifts (http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2007/12/11/dining/1212-GIFT_index.html). There are actually a few in here that I wouldn't mind having. I really like that cute little birdy corkscrew. :kekeke:

The kids are even making it hard on me this year. By now they have a list a mile long, have demanded that I stop by Toys-r-us for the "Wish Book" to mark all their items, hints just bounce constantly. But this year - total silence. I finally mentioned to them last night that Santa was in a pickle and sent me an email saying that if they didn't get on the ball and start giving ideas, the tree was going to be bare. Still nothing. They are leaving to me and I'm guaranteed to screw it up.

Easy and cheap (?) gifts (http://www.chicagotribune.com/shopping/custom/holidaily/chi-1216_style_stocking_stufferdec16,0,5047758.story)t o stock up on. Might be a little late for some of them, but others are some good ideas to keep on hand.

I have done the vast majority of my last-minute shopping online and have had most of it mailed to my parents house. With the little man sick, the last place I was headed was to a mall.

Ha! I got some of my Christmas To-Do items done today. :) Now I just have to stop by Best Buy on the way home to pick them up!

Further, I sent out Christmas cards for the first time in probably 6 years, and they will get to the addressees BEFORE Christmas. LOL!
