Something really weird happened today..................
I stopped at the mailbox to get my mail, came in the house and started leafing through it. I came across a Christmas card that was delivered to the wrong address. I know that's not weird but wait........... The card's return address was California. It was addressed to Mr. and Mrs. (Rhett's first name) and a completely different last name, not even close to ours. The street number was the same as ours but the name of the street was completely different. Now, here's the kicker..............the city name was Christ Creek and the COUNTRY name was New Zealand.....................now how could this happen????????????
Too weird...........:confused::confused::confused::con fused:

Never underestimate the incompetence of a government-run entity.

I bought my house 22 years ago. The man I bought it from died about 10 years ago. Someone sends him a Christmas card here every year. There for a while I would just put "no longer lives here" and send it back, but they just keep sending them. Last year I put on there that he passed away, well, I got another one yesterday. These are from a real person b/c they are hand written. Strange huh?

Do you think it would be against the law for me to write on the back of the envelope that the card went from CA to New Zealand by way of Hattiesburg, MS............

Scarlett, I'd put it in a fresh envelope with a note about what happened.
I moved to the Burg a several years ago and got a PO box. Because of all that "Address Correction requested" stuff, I now get junk mail (and lots of it) for my ex, though he has never lived here or used this address. For a while after I moved, I was even getting some of his real mail, which caused all sorts of trouble when he refused to understand or believe what was going on.
And we've been trying for three years to convice BP that my father is dead, even after sending the death certificate.

That is strange! I thought it was bad that we always got the H's mail, seven years later. We even got a car tag for them this year.:-D

That is really strange! I think I would definitely write a note and send it to New Zealand with the card. I'm sure that cards don't get put in the wrong country often! :)
My mother recently received a piece of mail that had an address for another state-- the street name, number, town, zip and all that were in no way similar to her address, but it ended up at her house. The ONLY thing on it that was right was the name. She does have a unique name, so the only way we can figure it ended up there was that someone who knew her name at the p.o. saw it and got it there. Still weird though. You wouldn't expect a piece of mail to make it somewhere with the right name and the wrong everything else.
The postal service is sorta creepy.

Sounds like a Stephen King novel, doesn't it?

We got a piece of mail recently with the right street and house number, but the wrong name, town and state....
