I believe they are on after dark most evenings....until 10 o'clock or until everyone leaves. We go every year..they always do such an excellent job with their display.

Are they "open" on Sundays?

Everyday from dark to 10 thru New Year's I believe. I know I've gone on Christmas night before, but I've never gone after that.
I forgot all about that. What is the name of the road they are on? I recall it was off 11.

Isn't it White Chapel? I'm not very sure.

If you are driving from Hattiesburg make a left at the monument business about 3 or 4 miles past I-59. Lewis Lights is maybe .2 or .3 miles down the road on your left..with parking across the road.

The fam and I went just last night. The little man had a blast. We missed the turn at White Chapel rd because they used to have a cross lit up to signify the turn but it wasn't there. Now that we know exactly where it is it will be a family tradition. By the way it was cool... it had been a while since I had been.

The house by sacred heart is the Lopinto's house. It even plays Christmas music. My kids go to sacred heart and love that house.
i have not been to the Lewis Lights in a few years- Is it open during the week too?

I heard that Tylertown has their city park all lit up where you can drive through it and see the lights. Not sure how great it is, but heard it was nice. Wondered if anyone had been there.

I think that they have even more lights this year than in years past. Last Sat. at the Art Walk they had it open where you could tour it and there was so much stuff inside. Each room has a different collection of sorts. It was very interesting.

Butterball took me and the kiddies to see the Lewis Lights this past Tuesday. It was great! A lot of hard work went into all the decorations.
I've been to the Tylertown Park and the displays are very nice too. It's a driving tour and they've invested a lot into it. Very nice and worth the trip.
There is also Christmas in the Woods close to Ellisville..... Where is this one? Can you give me directions please? :smt023

Is this one opened back up? It was not there last year. Katrina messed it up pretty good. It was something else before.

I don't think Christmas in the Woods will be back. It looked to be permanently shut down last year. But, for those wishing to go back in the "woods" to see for yourself, you take Highway 29 and turn off on a road by a general store..don't know the name. Then you have to turn at a road behind some chicken houses..don't know the name of that road, either. Aw, forget it. I can drive there, but I can't tell you how.:smt105

XC, fishing girl and I went one year...geez that place was in BFE! We drove for what seemed like well over an hour to get there...the only way we found it was step by step directions from ON-STAR in my car. It was pretty but it was a loooooon drive. It was scary too...not many houses on the roads we had to take to get there and it appeared there were swamps around in some spots and it was "dark"...I prayed the whole time that we got out without any problems. The lights were beautiful though.

Yes, you walk it. Worth seeing.
Last year we got out and walked by the Lapinta House. Well worth seeing.
I have a favorite on Laramie Street off of South 28th ave.(((( On the left coming off south 28th ave.))) Started out as a huge magnolia tree decorated with lights and each year a new decoration is added to the yard.Magnolia tree is still there.
The yard is full of things. Trains, planes, ferris wheels, carousels and something plays music.

We took my 21 month old and she loved running around to all the wooden Santa's... she loved the lights.
She too loves the house on Laramie Circle. This has been one of my favorites growing up here. That tree is pretty famous has it's withstood lots of storms, lights and all... the lights stay up all year. My little girl was just jabbering in the back until we got to this house and she just hushed... she was in awe...
Anybody know of other great decorations to drive to see (close by).. I love to let her look at them..

I think the house is on S. 37th...go Hardy St. turn left by where the old Pizza Hut was (now being rebuilt) by University Mall..go down about 3 or 4 blocks and the house is on the right...BEAUTIFUL!

We went last night to see the house off of 28th and that was interesting, I did not know they made that many different types of blow-up christmas decorations. After that we drove around Pinehills Drive and there were a few houses that were decorated a little over the top. Nothing very special though.

The lady that did Christmas in the Woods moved (and I think sold that place). I'm checking with her to see if they are still doing it, but I don't think so.

This is the reply I got from the Christmas in the Woods lady. They didn't sell it.
No, Christmas in the Woods seems to be over, initially it was “Gone with the Wind” in 2005 with Katrina, we had plans to start again in 2006, and then dad died. As much as we would like to continue with tradition, it seems impossible at this time….
