That's sad. Whether you celebrate Christmas or the original Yule we should all be mad at how it's turned into a profit margin. Everytime on the Today show that the word Christmas is used shopping is sure to follow.

I think it would be nice if Christmas could get back to basics. I'm torn between the ideas of A) refusing to celebrate it in anything other than a purely non-commercial way and B) embracing it as a tradition and as something that's fun for the kids.

I drove by a nativity scene with Santa kneeling at the manger. That was a little odd...

I saw one of those years back. I'm like you. I had to ponder on that one for a minute.

But, then again, xmas traditions are a blend of traditions from all sorts of different religions and cultures, so...why not blend things just a little more?
