Just a couple things:
1. USM fans should be ashamed!! Cinci had more fans in Birmingham than USM. It's what? A 4 hour drive at most? USM has the worst fan base in college football.
2. Anybody catch the timeout call by USM where the ref spurts out "Timeout Mississippi State"? Hilarious!!! The booing must've lasted for 10 mins.
3. The TV folks were just doggin on USM for their crowd, decision to fire Bower etc. It was a bit of a hate fest. Especially after Bower's wife popped off about it.
There's already a thread on this, but...
1. Maybe USM fans are tired of being told they should be ashamed. Why the hell should the FANS be ashamed? For one thing, the FANS are the ones who are there. Maybe they need more fans, not better fans. Secondly, if the team would win consistently-- or at least put on a good show-- they might have more loyal fans. I didn't go to a game this year because I knew it would just be a disappointment. USM games are just not that much fun. On top of that, they break your heart every time. There seems to be very little PASSION on the field, and I think that's reflected in the fan attendance, or lack thereof.
2. Of course.
3. Yeah I heard that too. It got old. And considering that USM lost (as usual), I think it's time people stop bitching about how USM did Bower wrong. I didn't hear his wife pop off, but I didn't watch the entire thing. (Too painful.) What'd she say?

That would be the definition of a fair weather fan. Sometimes referred to as a bandwaggoner. That's why USM fans will never see USM move to the next level. It's all about money, and if their fans refuse to attend games, that only hurts them.
I couldn't care less about Bower.
Well I'm not gonna feel guilty for not going and spending my money to spend three hours watching them get beat, fairweather fan or not.
Saints tickets were in much higher demand last year than this year. That's just the way the system works. They've got to start adjusting to IT instead of expecting IT to adjust to THEM.

I went to the game and was actually excited during the first quarter. After that it all went downhill. I did have some good laughs at some people in the stands though, and Cinci #41 McQueen was entertaining. My group was among several others exchanging gestures and comments with him. Some people got mad, but I thought it was all pretty funny.
