Albuquerque Has Renewal of Attacks on Abortion (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/28/us/28albuquerque.html)

...Two attacks occurred early Tuesday at two buildings belonging to Planned Parenthood of New Mexico, according to Albuquerque police and fire officials. An arson fire damaged a surgery center the organization uses for abortions, and the windows of a Planned Parenthood family planning clinic 12 blocks away were smashed, the officials said.

Neither building sustained significant damage, and activities at both of them resumed Wednesday, a spokeswoman said.

The attacks came just weeks after the Albuquerque clinic run by a nationally known abortion provider, Dr. Curtis Boyd, was destroyed by arsonists on Dec. 6....

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this, but I'm gonna say it.

Property attacks on abortion clinics are legally wrong. However, as I am opposed to abortion, I'm inclined to look the other way while these lawbreakers commit their crimes. I draw the line when someone intentionally targets people.

Just like I'd look the other way while someone beat the hell outta someone who raped a kid.

I agree about the last thing you said about the kid who was raped. I would help beat the hell out of anyone who did something like that. I am also against abortion but teaching safe sex or abstinence seems to be a better as well as legal way to fight the law. Good luck in school I go back in January.

They are merely speaking out against an unjust law, like legalizing marijuana. It's protected by the first amendment right there in black and white where is says freedom of expression.:smt023

Good try, but the problem with that logic is that the freedom of expression stops when it infringes on someone else's rights...like their property.

As for looking the other way, I suppose that works. Until someone decides to burn your house or business down because they find something about you or what you do objectionable. If it's OK for people for a cause you agree with, then you're on a slippery slope. Who gets to decide where the line gets drawn?

The people who do this crap never think about the other services such places provide either though - not every woman who uses the services of Planned Parenthood or who has a doctor's appointment with a doctor who performs abortions is seeking one herself. For every woman visiting the location for an abortion-related need, there are probably dozens who visit for low-cost birth control, counseling, prenatal care, or regular OB/GYN appointments.

Arson is arson and vandalism is vandalism, no matter how unpopular the target. There are plenty of ways to protest that do not involve property damage or potentially harming innocent people.

Most definately. People alot of times use violence as a last resort unless they are drunk or under the influence or have a direct link to property/persons that they are acting out against. The influential can also brainwash.
