This is so sad!! I'm from Natchez and knew their daughter. It gave me chills when I thought about how many freak accidents really happen. Please keep this family in your prayers!

Very sad. Can you imagine having to live with doing this? That poor man and family.

Should there be a little more investigation here? Was there evidence of an intruder????/

There wasn't an actual intrusion of their house. There was a burglary a few houses down. Also, someone took out one of their flood lights on their house. It's kinda creepy to think how "on edge" they must had been feeling.

Such a tragedy. A terrible tragedy that might could have been avoided if our society in general wasn't faced with the need to protect life and property against increases in neighborhood crime.

My first reaction to your post, Kitty, was BS. Blame society? The more I thought about it, I realized you're right. It is society's fault in large part. Heck, growing up on Kimball Ave. in Hattiesburg, before central A/C, we turned on the attic fan and opened our doors at night to get the draft. Never occurred to us someone would break in. And, it never happened. Now you have to keep your doors locked in broad daylight just to do housework, or you'll look up and find an intruder with a gun.:smt086

A tragedy.
Just called boyfriend's dad, who grew up in Natchez and still has his family home there. Bf's family home( 2nd home) is right downtown and knew about this. Bf's dad said all the burglaries have been a problem. He said this was out from them.
Sad.

Yes, this was out towards the city limits of Natchez, but there have been some burglaries downtown as well (and also in Vidalia, LA which is right across the river). I don't know what's happening or if they're even related. When I was growing up there, I never dreamed that any of this would happen. Times have changed EVERYWHERE!
