The agreement, estimated to cost $34 million, requires the state to hire more caseworkers and limit their workloads.
Mississippi also must increase its workers hiring standards and enhance medical and educational services for foster children. A 24-hour hot line to report abuse must be set up, and the Department of Human Services must be accredited by the national Council of Accreditation.

It's a start. Maybe next time I have to call them and report someone (and I hope to God I never have to again) something will be done about it instead of waiting too late. (God bless the people in this line of work. I'd end up in prison for beating some idiot "parent" )

Foster care is so sad. By the time most kids go in to foster care, it is basically too late to help them. On the other hand, I have seen a few that I would just love to take home with me.
