This just happened around 3 p.m. this afternoon (Sunday). I hope and pray that no one died or was hurt too badly...although from the sounds of it, it is pretty gruesome :(

Madison, Wisc. - More than two dozen emergency vehicles are at the scene of crashes involving 40 or more vehicles and several jack-knifed tractor-trailer trucks in dense fog on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-90/39 north of state Highway 12 on the city's east side.

No information was available on the number of casualities, but dispatchers were reporting that all Madison-area hospitals have been alerted to handle incoming injured motorists.

Authorities said I-90/39 has been closed in both directions.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has scheduled a news conference for later this afternoon to release more details of the crash.

This reminds me of how much I hate driving in fog.

I remember well the night we backed up the State Police on the highway for a 50 car accident. Snow, plus fog. No serious injuries but vehicles all over the place from the BDL to the median, in the ditch, etc.

Glad those days are over...
