The Dark Lord predicted a change such as this. Is Boring Bounds an improvement over Can't-Wear-A-Hat-Hatten?

Unanimous? So even Hit___ Hatten voted for him and not himself?

What other changes are on the horizon? Will the new BOS fire scores of road warriors like they did 4 years ago? or maybe give walking papers to Cheesy Chuck, Much-Married Mozingo or Mean Martha?

There is nothing uncommon about the election of a new Board President. Most counties rotate the role every year or so.

So why did it take 4 years to rotate in Lamar Co?

It is the Board's option. They can rotate (or re-elect) every year or they can set the board presidency for a full four-year term.

My understanding...from talking to someone in the loop...is that the board might opt to rotating the Board Presidency every year. Really, the Board President gets a lot of headaches with little of the glory, and certainly no additional pay. The Board President acts as the board spokesman (which is good and bad) and presides over the meetings. Oftentimes, citizens outside of the Board President's district will call the Board President with their problems, simply because he/she is the Board President. Other than the title, there's not a lot of perks that comes with it.

Thanks for asking dahlin'. The Dark Lord has been in a galaxy far far away. . . a self-imposed exile for crimes committed against the Alliance.

Forrest county also elected a new president and vice president. Charles Marshall is the new president and one of the newly elected guys Bowen took the the vp position from Rod.

Tully is correct that most counties rotate but some counties the BOS see the positions as a powerful.

Remember 3 votes can tell 2 votes to set in the corner and they have to. If you can count to 3 you can do anything you like in county government.

Thanks for the info, HIUTH. The Dark Lord has heard rumblings that the perceived alliance between Marshall and Woullard is disintegrating. The Dark Lord has even heard that Marshall did not support Woullard for vice president as expected. True?

Darth Vader would be right. I believe dupree and rod supported someone against marshall in the past election. Payback can be hell and in this case it's just starting.

Also heard county supervisor credit cards and some cell phones were cancelled in the last meeting. That would be another strike at rod.

There's a new marshall in town so to speak. One that doesn't need rod's vote to make 3. So rod seems to have lost a lot of his power he had under billy H.
