After finding alcohol in her son's car, she decided to sell the car and share her 19-year-old's misdeed with everyone — by placing an ad in the local newspaper.
The ad reads: "OLDS 1999 Intrigue. Totally uncool parents who obviously don't love teenage son, selling his car. Only driven for three weeks before snoopy mom who needs to get a life found booze under front seat. $3,700/offer. Call meanest mom on the planet."

My father found porn in my car when I was a teen.

I kept the car, he took the porn.

That is great that she followed through with enforcing her rule. She's not "Meanest Mom", she's "Mom that says what she means, and mean what she says"

At 19 he should be out on his own or able to afford his own car... Score one for the parent!

What would she have done if she had found pecker trackers on the backseat? :ohnoes:

It's called "tough love." She may not be popular with her son but thank God she did what she did...she could have saved several other folks lives as well as her sons. There needs to be more parents who are not afraid of "doing the right thing."

Good for the Mom. That is what this world needs more PARENTS and less friends. Sorry but this is a complete gripe of mine. I hate to see people who have kids and let them do anything. I dont have kids but if I did I would be the MEANEST MOM because I believe in discipline.

but yeah- the mom did the right thing.Sorry Lips... I read the story and did some talking in my head and after I posted some of what was said in my head wasn't on the post... Let me see if I can add to it to make it look like I wasn't being a total jerk...
The only critic is her son, who Hambleton says is "very, very unhappy" with the ad and claims the alcohol was left by a passenger. Hambleton believes her son but has decided mercy isn't the best policy in this case. She says she set two rules when she bought the car at Thanksgiving: No booze, and always keep it lockedNothing wrong with momma buying the son a vehicle and such. But when momma puts down ground rules and he breaks them and she does what she did then he has no room for being unhappy. If he felt that she was mean and cruel then he is certainly old enough to have a job and enough etc....:smt023 Am I making better sense now?:-D
