Does anyone know if Hattiesburg Police have anyone on the force that can do sketches? I know Danny Rigal used to do it when he was with H'Burg. This questions has come to mind since the robbery of the mexican people on 4th street. I am interested in knowing if they have anyone and who it is.

Thank you XC9. :smt001
I was just fixin'ta ask that exact question.
I've kinda wondered that myself.

I can't recall ever hearing any mention that any of the local LE agencies have a sketch artist.

I can think of one person here who I would highly recommend. I've seen a couple of pencil sketches/portraits and they look really, really good to my unprofessional eye.
I've always admired - and quite frankly - envied that talent.

I guess you didnt know I was the sketch artist for the sheriffs office, give me a few minutes and I'll have you a rendering compiled from the detailed description given by the victim.

Ok here he is, if anyone recognizes this guy please call crimstoppers.

I could only do one suspect, the second suspects description was too vague to do a detailed sketch.

You won't be hired dude! Didn't you remember the bad teeth? That is an important clue this detective picked up on. No-Halo, do you believe this incident really happened or this some type of set up by the people on 4th st. for some reason? I still thought identifying yourself as L.E. was a felony, especially since it happened as another felony was committed too.

For some reason your sketch reminds me of Beavis and Butt-head. By the way, did county have a rash of a.t.v. thefts near Christmas time? If so, your favorite detective can probably solve your case for you. Let me know.

I do believe it happened XC, I don't have a lot of info on the case but feel that if it were a hoax HPD would have uncovered that soon into the investigation and made it public. Acts of this nature leave everyone very uneasy about whos actually knocking on their door and identifying themselves as law enforcement.

Impersonation is only a misdemeanor offense unfortunately but if acts of this nature continue to happen I foresee legislation to upgrade it to a felony in the future.

I don't recall any rashes, we had a very uneventful holiday season this year but I'll be happy to check into it.
