I have not heard any "official" reports, but last night it got bad here. It came a gully washer of a rain, with a lot of lightening & thunder, also wind. I could have sworn that I heard some small hail hitting on the outside of our upstairs balcony. Hubby said that he heard it, too. This was really in the wee hours of the morning. Earlier in the evening, when we downstairs watching TV, our weather radio's alarm went off with a severe thunderstorm warning for Forrest & Lamar Counties. That little radio can sure get your attention as it is quite loud!:smt105

Ughhh. That was the worst. When I taught out west we didn't have to deal with such. Last year it, it was a fiasco in the school where I taught. I didn't have a hallway, so my students were crowded along the front wall, the only "free" interior wall in my room.

We've cancelled group. I didn't want any of our workers or children being out on the roads in this. I may get in trouble from the higher ups, I don't care. Trying to get Medicaid payments for group therapy is not worth putting anyone's life in danger being out on the roads.

We're beginning to hear it here in Petal a little too. A friend of mine was in Perry county earlier, and said that it was horrible there!

I don't blame you, I'd leave ASAP too. I grabbed my babies from school, and we're all watching the radar and praying Ginger doesn't decide to have her puppies in the middle of this mess!

Sacred Heart is going to put any students that aren't picked up by 1 in the basement of the school to ensure their safety......
Petal is doing nothing. Oak Grove, I have no clue what they're planning.

There are NO basements in PETAL schools, that I'm aware of. The basements are at Sacred Heart. They said they'd put any children remaining on campus after 1 in the basement for their saftey....

Some of y'all might be safer to stay put. I'm better off in this concrete building than in a frame house surrounded by pine trees. Just called Mom and told her to listen for the sirens (she can't always hear them, though.)
