This is an article about a basketball coach in Arizona, and his wife he was in a bitter divorce with killing herself and their son.

Article (http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/10567327)

Make sure to pay attention to the letter she wrote him. This woman was completely and absolutely nuts. Possibly possessed.

The incident happened Dec of 2006.

Well, I understand that nut who threw his kids off the bridge had just had an argument with his wife. I'm just happy that guy is still alive so we can watch him fry. I just hate the cowards who do that then kill themselves before we can.

Heartbreaking.

On so many levels.

The description given in the article, "evil," was very fitting. I couldn't imagine hurting one of my babies. No matter how much I hate my ex, I would NEVER do anything to harm one of them, just so he could feel pain. That's freakin' unreal and makes my heart ache. :smt086

ALL suicide is selfishly motivated. Wonder why he wanted the divorce?

Something was wrong with that woman besides being pissed off. The part about the note almost made me vomit.

Yeah, she definitely had some deeper seeded issues, for sure. I wonder if she'd ever been treated for any mental disorders in the past. I just can't imagine. Just thinking about this, still, makes me want to cry. That poor baby.:smt009

Philosophically speaking, I have a hard time labeling the people who do things like this "evil". Hateful. Spiteful. Vindictive. Petty. Disturbed. A host of other adjectives. All of which can apply to many of us to lesser degrees if we find ourselves in the same situation. We might not be willing to kill ourselves or our child to hurt someone who has hurt us; many of us are unwilling to go that far. But some of us are willing to go pretty far to settle a score or get even.

Labeling something or someone "evil" creates a distance for us...allows us to say that there is something qualitatively different about that person or thing. When it comes down to it, though, I wonder how many degrees apart we really are...and what it would take to get us to the point where we too could be considered "evil".

I guess it depends on one's definition of evil. Pourposely killing or abusing an innocent, defenseless child certainly is "evil" in my book. It just does not get any worse than that.

I have to say that is one of the most heart-breaking stories I have ever read. Why in the world would a mother, or anyone, kill their child just to get back at their ex. That poor, innocent child just sitting in the back seat playing, not knowing what is going on. I am sick to my stomach and have a headache from crying. This is truly horrible!!!!!!!

I'm usually the first to give someone posthumous recognition for their sacrifice for the overall betterment of the gene pool. But why do these dimwits insist on taking someone with them who might actually have a chance to be a decent human being?

Possibly possessed.
By the demon of stupidity, obviously.

While I agree that what this woman, and the man in Mobile, did to their children defies understanding, is morally reprehensible, and demands justice under the law. However, I'm getting the sense that severe mental illness that might very likely be present in these people is regarded as . . evil?

The cracker factories are overflowing with insane people, some of whom have committed unconscionable, bizarre acts. I'm not sure, not convinced, that The Devil Made Them Do It. I lean more towards a circuit break in the frontal lobe. The McNaughten Rule might apply, i.e. Would these people have done or tried to do the same thing, even with a policeman at their side?

I'm sure the courts of proper jurisdiction will soon be mulling that question over, and a slew of others centering around the "legal" insanity of these people, even if a boatload of psychistrists conclude they are in fact "medically" insane.

. . . come to think about it . . . is there an Evil Doctrine in law ???

That and the part where it said she had taken photos on the digital camera (before he died) but that in the photo you can see his lips turning color......just horrible. Horrible!
