Do you recycle? Here's a story about a woman in Hattiesburg who does it as a business.

Just got the paper and read the article. More power to her. I hope her business will be thriving. I wish Hattiesburg/Lamar county had curbside pick up or at least more recycling stations.

If it were more convenient, then yeah, I'd do it. But it's not, so I don't.

If I see the bins, then I toss it in there, but if not, no.

We only recycle aluminum cans...I would do paper and such but it is a pain in the butt since we don't have storage space. It would be nice if the city could makes such pickups but they do good to get any of the trash picked up some days.

I spoke with my county supervisor about this and he told me there were no dropoff sites close by and they didn't have anywhere to take the stuff. Looks like he fed me a line...

I think that is how a lot of people are. So if you do sort it all out, where could you take it?

That's just it. I have to haul it somewhere... and for what? PITA...

Good for her! Doing something to help the community and enviroment plus make money at the same time. I wish her all the luck in the world.

It's a great idea, but she's undercharging. People would pay $20 a month for it, easy.

Someone told me that aluminum cans were going for $.65 a pound. If that's true, those cans could add up....

There are about 25-30 aluminum cans per pound... hmmm... I saw a bum out yesterday digging through the garbage to get to the cans. Maybe I should follow suit? Naaaahhhh.

I participated in Red truck a few years ago and I emailed her and got the form to fill out to do this. If it is picked up at my house I will do it. If I have to take it somewhere it is going out with the regular trash.

I wish someone would make arrangements to recycle glass. I guess it isn't profitable so not doing it. We recycle plastic, paper and alum cans. Take them in their bins (laundry baskets) as I am going towards Kemper Park and pitch it all in.
Plastic in the landfills will do us in....and much to my surprise but in USA Today was the article where China has banned the plastic grocery sacks, making everyone go back to their own cloth bags as before.
