i think some guidelines would be helpful. i didn't think mine was bad - but others did. so i think some helpful hints (aka rules) for this contest would be safe!

However, I am guessing that we will all have to put of photos of women, since we know the men are not going to vote for a picture of a hot man. I guess I am OK with that. I am secure enough in my sexuality to say if I think a woman is hot. :)

Thing is, I don't know too many guys that are going to put some hunky guy in as their avatar... maybe noway...

Hard to vote if there's not an avatar up there... I think aaron said there was a function where you can disable viewing avatars, so you can view at work safely... lemme look and see...

We could have a "nice" avatar during the daytime, and then switch to the hot avatar at night. But it would have to be the SAME avatar that you put up at night.

Okay, for those concerned about viewing at work, you can turn avatars off...

User Cp--->Edit Options---->Thread Viewing Options uncheck the 'view avatars' box and save.

I just posted how to turn them off. It's *that* hard.

That might work. I think it is a great idea and it will be TONS of fun, but some people may not want to look at hot avatars, you know? I wish there were a way we could do it in the After Hours thread or something.

Just my opinion.. Ive been thinking.. Maybe do this in the after hours thread.. post your HOT avatar picture in the thread.. then put a poll up about it.. aaron knows how to post a poll with pictures..
Reasoning

1. To man people post from places that other people might see over teh shoulder

2. some people might not like looking at HOT chicks all day

I think part of the appeal is wearing your avatar by your name. Posting a pic is not the same.

Just do it over the weekend, starting at 5:00 Friday, and then vote on Sunday. This place is always a hotbed on Sunday night.

Here's the 'official rules'

Disclaimer: You can toggle off avatars so they will not be visible during your working hours if you're on MH at work (??shouldn't you be working??). To do this go to 'User CP' in the tool bar (blue area above). Click 'Edit Options' on the left side. 1/2 way down, there will be a box titled 'Thread Display Options'. There is a box to uncheck named 'View Avatars'. Uncheck the box to turn avatars off so you can view MH at work when you should be working...

Now, the rules:

Nominate users based on their avatars all day on Friday. Nominations after 11:59pm Friday will not count.

On Saturday, proudly display your Hottest avatar if you are nominated. Changes are allowed Saturday. Please lock one in by 11:59pm Saturday.

Sunday, please do not change your avatars, please? I'll have a poll up and you can vote all day Sunday. Poll will close at 12am Monday.

Winner will be announced and they will earn the right to put MyHattiesburg's Mr/Mrs. January under their user title... unless aaron can think of something fancier to give away.
