View Full Version : new Mexican restaraunt
Has anyone eaten at the new place on Oak Grove Rd. called Los Tres Garcias? Is it good? Is it clean? My sister went there and didn't go in. She said she wasn't sure from the way it looked on the outside. Anyone know?

I haven't seen it yet. Of course, I have spent more time in Florida and Texas than in OG lately.

I went in got a Menu Thursday. It really looks good but a little pricey.

It's on Oak Grove Rd as you turn on OG road off Westover it's about a mile down the road on the right in the same lot as Lamar Properties and before you get to the stop sign at Oak Grove Rd and Mayfair drive.

I've eaten there once. It's pretty good. It's different for sure. It also contains a store that caters to the his[anic population. The salsa is reaaly good, and the tacos were good too with a little pico de gallo on them. They have really good guacamole too. It is hand made, as is there salsa. I thought the prices were very reasonable.

I think my ex boy said that it was really great. He was talking about a new place in OG but this has been about 2 months ago.

That's the best thing about getting around this country, you can find some of the finest vittles in some of the most out of the way, rundown, hole in the wall places. Especially, mexican food, boudin and barbecue.

I ate there again this week. I learned a little piece of trivia. The owner told me that Mr. Frank Garcia at the Mexican Kitchen is actually his older brother. The burritos are really good at Los Tres Garcias too.

In case anyone is interested Los Tres Garcias now has 2 salsas. They have their regular grilled tomato salsa and a new orange salsa that is HOT. Carlos, the owner, is brother to Mr. Frank Garcia that owns The Mexican Kitchen. His new salsa is from the family recipe originally served at The Mexican Kitchen on Hardy Street when it was owned by his uncle. It's very good, and if you like the Mexican Kitchen salsa this is very similar and you should try it! Their chicken fajita salad is really good too.
i went by there a couple weeks ago and recognized the guy working (maybe owner) from La Fiesta (both locations.)
I got a couple tacos but I didn't really like them because there was just too many onions for me. If they hadn't been full of onions I think they would have been awesome.

Next time just tell them. They will pretty much customize anything you want on the menu. You can also request stuff to be very spicy and they will spice it up. I've even seen them do stuff not on the menu at somebody's request.
As far as the poboys go, I think it's just a way to cater to people who might not like Mexican food. It allows a more diverse crowd to come eat there. I've never tried a poboy from there because I like Mexican food too much.

Is it just a carry out place, or do they have tables to sit at?

They have some tables.

They have tables and have recently added some booths. It's a modest place but I like the fact that attention to your food is highly stressed. Everything is cooked or made fresh. The prices are very reasonable too, especially at lunch. To top it all off you can get a scoop of Blue Bell ice cream there when you're done.

I ate there today and loved it. I had the chimichanga and the guy with me had the burrito. Both were real good.
I told my wife we were having hot dogs tomorrow night but I may run over there and pick us up something.
