I know Sebastian has a few weird ones...

I'm pretty tired right now, but the one habit he ALWAYS has is with his water bowl. He rarely just drinks his water... he dips his paw in it, then licks the water off his paw. He also like to "dig" around his food bowl... he's declawed, but still paws at the floor around the bowl! He's my first cat, so it's still a little new to me when I notice some things. Any reasoning behind these behaviors?

And what do you babies do that seems little odd?

My cat is obsessed with the toilet in my bathroom. I don't know what it is. I always have to make sure I close the door after I am done. Very strange.

Hey Lips.
I have had cats forever. My Dylan is approaching his end of his life...And I am sad about that. He is 14. If your kitty runs around and meows like crazy and pees in you bath tub, then he could have a kidney problem. Dylan did this years ago and I feed him Science Diet CD. Male cats tend to have that problem more than she cats.
I took Dylan to a quack vet and she diagnosed him from a- z....the Hill's science took care of his need.

thanks for the warning birthdyabunnie!!! I'm such a paranoid "mama" with him! I can't tell you how many times I skipped class (in grad school) just to sit home with him his first year of life because something just seemed "off"....

another habit of his- he LOVES to lay on paper. Printer paper, magazines, anything. He's obsessed. Such a strange boy he is. He keep me entertained though, and I love his adorable self to death!!!

Mine also likes to lay on paper. And whenever I type on my laptop, he has to be all up on top of the laptop.

That is a young kitty for you!! Dylan is my last kitty and I honestly don't know if I will get another inside cat. I am 42 and have had kitties mostly all my life. Right now, he is in good health but has a respiratory thing gong on.... Been giving him antibiotics for it....IF a HUMAN doesn't have a HEART for PETS............then, they SUCK!!

Another Sebatsian oddity- since I've had him (well, after the initial bonding phase) he sucks on my ears :( he was really bad when he was little... I used to sleep with ear muffs on, or even tried cayenne pepper once. He still does it (or tries to) every morning... I hoped he would grow out of it.... he hasn't...

My cat needs 2 litter boxes in 2 different rooms, She loves to push her paws against the bed or comforter, If I'm reading the paper she wants to crawl all over it.

One thing I cant figure out is sometimes real early in the morning she will meow weird real loud in a different room maybe she is praying or something.

Both of my girlies do the paw in water thing too...and they love paper...plastic bags...boxes...

They both like to play with my feet under the blankets. Blackberry likes to "scratch" the end of the bed. They both like to sit on the edge of the tub when I'm in the bath (they've fallen in a few times).

Mine does the water thing, too. He also likes to put things in his water dish. His favorite thing seems to be hair scrunchies. I try to hide those darn things and he alwas gets them!

Lips, when I was a little kid I always had animals. I was the one who always brought them home because they followed me... Sometimes they followed being dragged but I brought them home... Warning though!!! Cats spend their first year or so tangling themselves in your heart so that eventually they become aloof and extremely independent. They may come when you call them and they may not... They may eat or they may not... Since I was surrounded by woods where I lived my Mingo that "followed me home" was the mouser and the snake catcher... My room had the window fan in it and I never ran it because he used it to come in and out of the house... One day though he brought a snake wiggling on both sides of his head in and I fell out of the bed trying to get away from him... But getting back to your kitty. You are his property. You just don't know it yet. You might have a clue though... Just the other day I went to a friends gravel pit that I am filling in for him. His neices and nephews were all there and had to come and speak to me when I pulled up. Their half grown cat came with them and rubbed against my leg... I picked him up while talking to them and he turned on his purring... Sheesh the memories came flooding back about why to own a cat... I quickly gave him to one of the kids. They will make you feel so good they are addicting. I am sure your cat is fine. Probably just eccentric. Most of them are...
If you can find a grocery store that still uses paper bags for the groceries use them... Then open it up and lay it on its side and wait... IT might take him a little bit of time but he will entertain you and himself... Then suddenly he will pop away and walk like "hey! this isn't cool! what was I doing?"

We had an orange tabby cat named "Good Time Charlie" when we were kids. I would be getting ready to go out & I would lay my clothes out nice & neat at the foot of the bed. Charlie had the whole bed to choose his space from, but when I got out of the shower there he was laying right on top of my clean clothes! He was telling me that he was the King of the Manor & I had laid those out specifically for him! LOL! He could be so aggravating! He could "talk". Mama would be cooking supper & ole Charlie would start pestering her for HIS supper. She would tell him "Not now, Charlie. I'm busy, but I'll get yours in a few minutes." I swear that cat would rear up on his hind legs & spat her on the butt gently and say "No, nowwww!" He loved to drink out of the bath tub. We would run the faucet a little & he would drink the running water. He would wet his paw with it sometimes, too.

haha, oh Sebastian knows he owns me, and I know it too!! We're doin okay so far with that set-up. I've already decided when/if I have children, I'm going to build Sebastian his own luxury suite so he doesn't feel neglected!!

And Virgo- for the longest time Sebastian put his toys in his food or water... and once in the toilet... he seems to have grown out of that though.

And the vet did tell me he was takin away from his mama too early, which is why he wants to suck on my ears and "make bisquits" on my FACE while doing so!!

My sweet Peach stayed cuddled up in the bed with me this morning while we were waiting for the last snooze alarm to expire. She's fairly prickly and really resents that I brought this large dog into her home, which has limited her movements. She doesn't like to cuddle too much anymore. :( But got her motor running for a good ten minutes this morning. :smt050

Sometimes when I change sheets on my bed my cat will jump onto the mattress. He will stay there until the bed is made. He will be underneath all the bedding and I have to get him out.

And the vet did tell me he was takin away from his mama too early, which is why he wants to suck on my ears and "make bisquits" on my FACE while doing so!!I've read that in several different places and it seems very plausable to me. It is, to my eye, identical to the kneading action kittens perform while nursing. :smt001

Sebastian somehow knows everymornign when I'm making the bed... doesn't matter where he is, he comes sprinting to the bed and jumps in!!! It's ended up turning in to play time for him, but frustration for me if I'm in a hurry!

haha yeah, I've thought of that... my parents have always teased me about him... they frequently ask "he been nursing any lately!?"

CAT DIARY
Day 983 of my captivity. My captors continue to taunt
me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates & I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once vomited on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse & dropped it's headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear in their hearts, since it clearly demonstrated what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a good little hunter I am...Bastards! Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet while he was walking. I must try again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs. I am convin ced that the other prisoners here are flunkies & snitches. The dog gets special privileges. He is regularly released & seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain he rep orts my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.....for now.

My cat loves to "make biscuits" too.
She will get a piece of food out of her food bowl and play with it till she can't find it anymore.
When I change the sheets she has to "help" or get in the way.
When I'm taking a shower she will look around the curtain. I guess to make sure I'm doing it right.
When my 4 year old takes a bath she sits right beside the tub till she is done.
Every morning about the time I normally get up she will come and sit on my arm, belly, whatever she can get on depending on how I'm laying. If I'm not up within about 30 minutes she will give me "kitty kisses" or touch my nose, my lip, my head, something with her paw. She will do this till I get up.
When we are eating, she will go to my husband and reach up and touch his arm to remind him she is sitting there wanting something to eat. Even though she won't eat it.
Loves to lay on clothes, especially clean clothes.
Loves to lay on paper.
And one more thing. I locked the house key in the house one time and we had to wait on my in laws to get home to get their copy of the key. We had to wait a couple of hours. The whole time we were sitting in the truck the cat, was sitting on the corner of the kitchen table looking at us. When she seen us get out and start to the door, she jumped down and ran and got on the corner of the chair and was sitting there all nice and innocent when we walked in..lol.

Why do cats make that weird call that almost sounds like they're gargling? One of mine has started doing it every night for a little while. It seems like he's unhappy about something but I can't figure out what. Unless it's outdoors and something he can hear or smell, I can't discern any trigger for it.

Funny story!!! I came home from work and parked my Tahoe in the garage and was unloading groceries. Closed the door and went inside. My purse and extra set of keys were inside my truck. An hour or two later I need my purse so I head to my truck and the doors are locked....OH NO!!! No keys, no onstar so I call a lock smith. He drive 15 miles here on a late afternoon to unlock it. It gets unlocked and this darn ugly cat jumps out and he says ..."Oh Jesus!!" It was my wild kittie that stays in the woods, she had got into my truck and I didn't know it...Poor guy, he only charged me 25 bucks but I gave him 35!!! He turned paler than me and he was alot darker than me!! LOL

All the cats I've ever had lived tragic lives. I'm not sure why that is...

I had one cat that was psychotic. I mean, looney psychotic.

I had one cat that thought he was a dog.

I had one cat that tried to open doors.

My mother had a cat that would climb in the bed under the covers. One day a "nosy" neighbor visited and happened to peek in the bedroom while making a trip to the restroom. The lady couldn't resist lifting the covers to see what was under the covers. Mom said she startled the cat, the cat jumped out at her and the lady came running and hollering down the hall back to the den with the cat close behind!
