View Full Version : House on West Hills
I have noticed that the blue house with a car repair shop behind it on West Hills Dr. is shut down. There are vehicles blocking the driveways in and out that have no trespassing painted on them. That house burned up several years ago but was never torn down. It looked like someone leased the back shop out at one time. It was a very shady looking business just due to the traffic that was coming and going most of the time. Anybody know what's up with that place? Why don't they have it torn down since it burned so bad?

Is West Hills somewhere out by Lake Sehoy and back behind Stuckeys? I get that area mixed up sometimes.
Is that in the city or out of city limits?

I am not sure about Lamar County and its zoning codes. Sometimes city zoning codes seem to be stricter from my perspective.
that house is actually only about 2-3 blocks into Lamar county. Who ever did whatever they did did a good job. That place was crawling with people that looked up to no good-squealing tires in and out of there like they were doing. Just didn't look good-the same cars in and out of there constantly-you don't get your car fixied weekly-you just don't!

I believe this is the garage that was owned/run by the man that the Lamar County Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Secret Service arrested last week for making all of the counterfeit money that was being passed in the area. The garage had been under serveillance for a while by the S.O. prior to the arrest.

Are you serious? Wow.
Thanks lawdog. I wondered since it is less than 1/2 mile from me. Since you knew about this do you know if there have been many 4 wheelers stolen around Christmas? I have noticed quite a few next door and these people are not the type to have something like these around. Pm me if you need to know anything about this.

There for a while about 15 Mexicans lived in the house. They would put their wet clothes all over the yard, bushes and fences to try them, being they didnt have a dryer... It was gross. I think they were finally told to leave.
That whole stretch from 4th Street to Golf Course Road is GROSS. They never clean it, it is COVERED in trash. I have a friend that lives down there, and when someone from out of town comes in, he tells me he is SO embarrassed to bring them down the road, being it is so gross and covered in trash.

XC9, I came through there the other day and saw that house and shop and it looked wierd and felt wierd.
That area didn't look that way back in 1980 or my memory is going. Well, parts did maybe. A friend and I rode our bikes to Lake Sehoy from West 4th back then.
This area has went down hill since the moose lodge bought the old country club. Not saying they had anything to do with it, but that is about the time the area took a downward spin. We try to keep our property clean and thugless-it is hard to do now. We are in the city of Hattiesburg (all of Golf Course Rd. is) and the city is NO help out here-except the fire department. I always call Lamar County or M.B.N. if there seems to be a problem out here. M.B.N. has been wonderful on many occasions as well as Lamar Counties guys. Since we are in H'Burg city, Lamar can only do so much, but they pass the word along to the right people for me and things seem to get taken care of. I DO appreciate them all!

XC did you find it ironic how the ATM burglaries stopped after we talked? :smt023
Uh OH! I forgot to mention my Forrest County boys. I love them too, and Billy does let them help me out too. They also realize that (hopefully) I am a big help to them too.
