Hey all. I have always wanted to know what some of your handles or user names mean on here... I mean some of them are obvious when you look at them but others I have no clue and wanted to ask but then there is always the privacy etc... as to why I should not... So... Without you having to say you had rather not say you can either choose to explain it and why the pride in it or choose not to and forever remain mysterious:ohnoes:.
Me first since I started this puppy... DTS or Dixie Tree Slayer... Real easy and not much to the imagination... I was raised in the Dixie Community and right after Hurricane Fredrick I asked my 7th grade science teacher if he needed help cleaning his 5 acre front yard of all the tree that were blown over. He handed me a saw and left a flipping paperwood truck and left me to clean it up by myself! I was just offering help, thinking WE would cut and pile and burn. Instead I cut and loaded and after it was all over with he gave me some money and offered me a job running his Skidder after school and on Saturday. I was only 16 and if you could have seen the machine he was asking me to run... Wait here is a pic

This daredevilness? Is this reason for upcoming surgery and any previous surgeries?

Most of the other places that require a user name I use one that leaves no doubt that I am a horse lover. I thought that this one would be different. So I thought back to my childhood when I LOVED to catch fireflies in the summer(lightengbugs) & how much they fascinated me. JMB knows me from our days in high school together & she knows my other user name as we are on another BB together.:-D

Not really. The previous surgery was because I fell wearing 2 in heels and broke 2 bones. I was walking down an uneven sidewalk. If you call that being a daredevil then all of us would fall into that cat.
No the daredevil stuff was more like drinking a whole case of beer and trying to stay up. Racing my Eclipse as fast as I could, 100mph. Jumoing off bridges where you could see what was under the water. Whitewater rafting the Ocoee River right before the Olympics. Stuff like that.

Well my user name is FashionPolice because I am a fashion merchandising major and my goal is to become a buyer . I have always loved fashion for as long as I can remember...I was the kid who changed barbie's clothes over and over and always had a matching scrunchie/headband to go with every outfit when I was younger haha! So that's me :)

He always had stories... He eventually became my father in law and then my ex father in law... All my fault I will take that blame... He is a pretty awesome man. Helped mold me somewhat... Taught me so much that I scare some people with the insight he gave me... A shame he no longer teaches... But he gave up teaching 5 or six years later and hasn't looked back...

I joined a year ago (the 12th) following the love of my life (before she was MrsBB). She had initially joined in to do some recon for me :smt118 and immediately got 'hooked' - - - so I was left with no choice but to join or miss out on what my better half was doing for enjoyment while I was gone :smt103 - - - ......turns out, it's what she does for enjoyment when I'm home
Anyway, I figured I didn't want to sign on as __________, so I needed an alias, an online name, that fit me. Being short (for most of my life) and somewhat portly, I decided to pull a name out of mothballs which followed me most of my high school career and into college. Thus BB was re-born and the avatar reminded me of Wilford Brimley (who is/was (?) a RolyPoly too, I might add). Well, there you have it.
BTW, I'm not nearly as portly as I once was although I still have the self-image. I want to show up this spring at my 40th high school reunion as the incredible shrinking man ----- :kekeke: ------- with the young, beautiful hottie wife on my arm :attack:.
Beauregard's Daddy
01-15-2008, 05:31 AM
Beauregard is my half redbone, half bloodhound pup. He is about 13 months old, 80 pounds or so and when he barks it starts down in his toenails and just grows and resonates as he haruuaururuuaooorhowls! You can hear him for miles. My neighbors love him.

The xboy gave me the nick, and after he left, I tried to ditch it. However, after 7 years, everyone, including my Sner, was calling me "fuzzis" (fuzz-sis). It was part of my email address, etc. So. I gave up and there it is.

Conveyor Belt
01-15-2008, 09:01 AM
My son was naming goldfish and named one of them Motorcycles and one of them Conveyor Belt. I figured everyone would think I knew something about motorcycles, which I don't, if I chose Motorcycles for a name, so I chose Conveyor Belt instead.

Most of you know that I am a Jimmy Buffett fan. In addition to his music, I also have enjoyed the few books that he has written. One favorite in particular is "A Salty Piece of Land". The following is an excerpt from the opening pages that seems to describe me pretty well so I chose the name of the lead character as my user name:
The west was changing and so was I. Now, looking back, I have to thank old Roy for teaching me that when you fall from your horse, you climb back in the saddle and plow ahead. From Butch, I figured out that what I wanted was to be my own man...just a good guy with a few bad habits. This is Tully Mars reporting in.

Actually I went with the guys on a Hazmat spill last week and as I was walking up the dyke in the rain one of them said I looked like Fog Horn Leg Horn... I could go by that, he is a brash old cuss thats full of himself!......

Born and raised in Houston TX we moved to podunk MS while in high school. When I tell people where I'm from they automatically think I'm a country girl. Well I lived in the country for awhile but I was born a city girl and I will remain a city girl.
You can take the girl out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the girl.

Mine's a combination of a truck I used to own & a nom de plume I used to use when writing dirty poetry.
I also am a Fredrick veteran. I spent half a year in Gautier MS wielding a McCulloch. If I never pick up a chainsaw again I'll die happy.

I am originially from Eastern Pennsylvania and after 23 1/2 years in the Air Force (17 1/2 yrs of that overseas) I moved to Mississippi because my English wife had a sister living here and everytime we came to visit her - we liked it better down here!
We've been here for almost 16 years now and I work at the Post Office. Shortly after I started working there, the "good old boys" ( I call them REDNECKS) started calling me DAMNYANK - the rest of the story is history!

Chichiguita
01-15-2008, 01:49 PM
It is pronounced "Chee-chee-GWEE-tah" (just in case you wondered)
I've explained it before--so I'm sorry if it's redundant...
Back Story
For several years it was part of my job to lead groups of adult volunteers into the mountain villages of the Dominican Republic to serve in the poor communitees there. Dominicans love to "rename" (give nicknames to) eachother. You know you have become one of them when you recieve a nickname (or two--my other one is Negrita).
My second trip was an extended one where I spent the summer teaching english to shoeshine boys. One of our words for the day was "chichigua"--which means "kite". The boys started calling me chichiguita. The adults later explained that I was like a "kite" to them because I was always "flying" from one thing to the next and my feet rarely touched the ground. (here in the states they call this ADD)
I like to think that this is their way of "saying I have a free spirit".
...I like that folks on here call me Chichi--:kekeke:--it does make me giggle, though--because "chichi" is a slang word for "boobs"!
:smt103
...sometimes I wonder if my little shoe shine boys were as innocent as they looked...;)

no need to apologize...I think its pretty funny and refer to myself that way now.
Just Remember--when we do our first "My Hattiesburg Service Trip to the Dominican Republic" (a little dream I've been cooking up in my spare time) we will get some pretty funny looks!!!
It's all good though--It took me forever to get myself to stop saying caca (sp--means sh!t in slang spanish). I also had a habit of saying "Man, I'm hot"--in that beautiful weather--this is not surprising...however I was using the word caliente'--which is a whole "different" kind of "hot"...:bowrofl:.

Mine simply means I love my life! I have a great husband and 3 great kids, I couldn't be happier with my family. I also have a very flexible job that allows me to be available for my kids anytime they need me.

My avatar and handle are well known. Ian is my Golden and the love of my life. My name is Dollfus and I was born in 1946, thus dollfus46. With a name like that, I don't have problems getting it. Heh heh heh.

I took my name from a song by [The] Art of Noise (the mix feat. Max Headroom). At the time I was addicted to the song I kind of liked the word - which is not a real one but can be taken to mean "paranoid insomnia". My icon is kind of related to that idea but it's really just the cover art to the single "Stick it out" by Rush.
