I never heard of it. Likely it's an independent or there are just a few of them, one owner. but then, why am I taking so long to say, "I don't know". And if I don't know, what the heck am I doing saying anything.:smt118
Daisy, I ono. Heh heh heh.

They better get some signs pointing people in that direction or no one will know it exists.

I did see in the HA where they were open. I asked hubby if he'd ever heard of them and he hadn't. He travels a good bit work related and livestock related (he's the beef man) and usually when out of town, he gonna eat at a steak joint.

Actually, my husband went last wednesday night they had just opened. It was very good. The atmosphere was great. I just hope that they make it. Hattiesburg sure could use another good steak house.

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine kept talking about "Cowboy Jacks" in Hattiesburg, where Cane Creek was. I only knew about "Cowboy Jims" in Bassfield.
Obviously, he meant "Angus Jacks."
Oh, well. Any new steakhouse within 30 miles is good news for me.

I went there tonight and was Shocked at how good the food was. It's the best Steak I've ever gotten at a Restaurant. I've always told everyone who asked the best steak in town was at Donanelle's. Well Angus Jacks was actually better tonight, and the bartender doesn't skimp on the drinks.
Also What is open on Friday/Saturday after 11???? I was shocked to find out last night that Garfields, and Logans are closed at 11, so What's open?

Not too bad. The large Porterhouse was $33. The Ribeye around $16. SOCO and Cranberry $5.
the steaks came with an awesome baked potato and ok salad. I will say the BEST honey butter and bread was brought out as an appetizer... I wish I had somemore of that right now.....

End Zone food is awesome. They have a chicken philly sandwich that is super good. Their mahi mahi sandwich is also really good. So are the hamburgers.
I know Mugshots has food but I don't know how late they serve. We ate at McClesky's Deli last night and the food their was great. I got the steak quesadilla-- ton of food for a good price. I don't know how late they serve.
Of course, Waffle House and IHOP are open late. Oh, Keg and Barrell serves pretty late I think.

My family and I went Friday night at 6:00. We had a party of 6, and we had a fantastic waiter. He took care of us, never leaving us having to ask for anything.
They bring out bread with cinnamon butter to start you off. While that sweet butter was good, we all asked for plain butter instead. It's more of something I'd want to eat for breakfast. ;)
I ordered the 12oz ribeye medium well, fries and a salad, gonefishin had the 16oz ribeye medium well with fries and a salad. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and were flavored very well. The fries are the steak cut and were pretty good. The salad comes in a nice-size bowl and includes tomato, cheese and maybe one slice of cucumber cut in half. It was good.
We were very pleased with our meal and service. Our bill (including our drinks & tip) totaled $60.00.
We will go back but probably just for special occasions. ;)

Brownstone's has a great late night menu. I recommend the chicken salad sandwich and sweet potato fries.
If you're looking for breakfast at all hours, go to Dan's on 49 South. I believe they have steaks and sandwiches as well, similar to IHOP. It's always cold there though so take a jacket.

If that's the case, there should be a vBookie event wagering on how long it takes him to burn the place down.

Late night breakfast reminds me of North Heights Restaurant on 49 N. It was always packed when I was a teenager trying to sober up. I think the building is still there.

We tried Angus last night. Like others said, I was really impressed. The service was fantastic. We got an appetizer of "Texas shoestings" (fried jalapeno and onion slices). The boy got the New York Strip (he normally gets filet, but I was paying so I think he was trying to be considerate). I got the fried shrimp (I know, it's a steak place, but when I saw they had shrimp- that's what I wanted). All the food was excellent, and they got it out to us really quick. I tasted the boys steak, and I was impressed. It had a very good flavor to it. So now I've got 3 places I'll eat steak- there, Donanelles, and Conestoga.
I'm sure we'll go back soon. Drinks, 2 meals, and an appetizer & tip was $52.

We ate at Angus Jack's over the weekend. It was fine! The service was top notch (the waitress managed to keep my tea glass full and I pretty much take sweet tea through an IV drip). The appetizer (crab cakes) was great, and the steak was tender and well seasoned. We couldn't eat there a lot because of the price, but we felt like we got our money's worth between the food, atmosphere and service. Plus the restaurant was not LOUD like so many are these days.

The fam-in-laws went with me and my wife ove the weekend. IT WAS FANTASTIC! The is nothing better than ordering a steak "medium" and receiving what you ask for. House wine (cabernet) was excellent (Barefoot, I think). The menu is a tad pricey, but you get what you pay for!

We wanted to go last night but apparently they're closed on Sunday, so we went to Longhorn's instead. The steaks there were not bad. But I still want to go to Angus Jacks.

my husband and I just got back from angus jacks and was suprised to have the same server we had at another restraunt about a year ago and he remembered us and we remembered him. Sonny was a great server, as usual, and the food was fantastic! I don't have anything bad to say about angus jacks. The prices were high but you deff. get what you pay for and we needed two take out boxes. If i were to go to a steak house and they had $5 16oz ribeyes they would prob. taste nasty. So in the food industry you get what you pay for and i am glad to spend my hard earned cash there. also we sat in the back at a lagre window area and saw an armidillo and a possum.

Reports on the food at the End Zone (Mike & Gails) is that if you eat there once, you will come back time ans time again.
Bring your sun glass's, it's a little bright inside.

Where is the end zone?
It's just before you cross the bridge over US49 on West Forth Street - on the right side if you're headed west.
It's where Pasquales was about 35 years ago.

Is that 26th ave that runs right beside U.S. 49? It runs almost right throught the doors of the End Zone. I think my friend Gary Lukens used to own it as did Kimble Bradley. Not the politician.
Anybody know if Ralph (Trash) Morris still hangs out there?

Yep, actually it sits right between 25th and 26th (which is now the frontage rd for 49). I haven't seen ol' Ralphie out in awhile. He used to be pretty regular at Chesterfield's though. Yes, Gary used to own it. You claim him as a friend? LOL - he's a good guy!

Hey, I ate @ Angus Jack's and it was very, very good. The beef they serve is supposed to be pure corn-fed Angus beef; I guess that's true. All I know is: it's some of the best tastin' I've had anywhere---and we have it right here...
