Came across this article (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/13/magazine/13Lynne-t.html) this morning and was reminded of how much I like Shelby Lynne. I get in musical ruts now and again and need to be prodded out of them. I don't know if I'll go out and get her newest effort, which is a bunch of covers of Dusty Springfield (http://music.monstersandcritics.com/news/article_1386609.php/Shelby_Lynne_channels_Dusty_Springfield_on_new_alb um), but I'm digging what I have now. As a note, I have to agree with the article in that I like her I Am Shelby Lynne (http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/lynneshelby/iamshelbylynne) much better than Love, Shelby (http://www.shakingthrough.net/music/reviews/2001/shelby_lynne_love_shelby_2001.htm).

I love SL and yes, she is hott. She was in some movie where she played the mom in the movie and I can't remember which one. I have one of her CD's and hubby has the poster of her in daisy dukes...What dang movie was that ???? Oh yeah, was it the Johnny Cash movie with Reese?

I had the pleasure of being her body guard one time at a show that she put on in New Augusta at the Georgia Pacific plant. I got a signed pic of her, some with me and her, and she signed my guitar. She is related to one of a men who used to work there. I always thought she was a great talent long before I met her. b/t/w she showed up in Willie Nelson's bus.
