"Snow Will Be On the Ground" (1/5)
"Snow Will Not Be On the Ground" (5/1)

LOL. I actually did think about a weather-related option :)

Did you see this blurb today (from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal):

Lambeau needs shovelers tonight

The Green Bay Packers are deploying a hurry-up-and-shovel offense in the Lambeau Field seating bowl tonight to keep six to eight inches of slushy snow from freezing in place.

Volunteers are asked to turn out at the Mills Fleet Farm Gate at 6 p.m. and can expect to enjoy a wintry evening of shoveling under the lights. They'll be paid $8 an hour and earn neighborhood bragging rights for their efforts.

Through noon, the Green Bay area had accumulated three inches of snow, and the forecast says it should stop falling right around dinner time. Once the snow stops, temperatures are predicted to drop into the single digits, a preview of the Arctic chill expected Sunday.

I read the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal for 3 1/2 years and saw a similar ad a few times - but it seems it was less than $8 per hour 15 years ago! :smt105

That's funny. And I bet it really was an ad in the paper 15 years ago. Now it's the top headline on their website, LOL Things sure have changed!

In 1991 the Pack was 4 -12 and in 92 and 93 they were 9-7 - not exactly anything worthy of a headline! :bowrofl:

Trust me. There were headlines. But they weren't very nice. It was nothing like this. As a little girl, I sat through the 1980s going to Packer games and waiting for the year that the Packers would play football in January. It never happened. I am so happy for the past 12 or so years. :)

Thinking about the over-under.. Packers scored 42 points in the snow last week. Cold cold weather games in the past have been low scoring.. :smt102

Those of ya'll waiting for the game might want to check out these video highlights from ESPN on Brett Favre's 2007 season.

It includes not only game action highlights from his record-setting season, but also a few of those "in the huddle" and "on the sidelines" clips with sound that only the NFL can get.

I've loved Troy since I was a small fuzz...think he was the prime reason (other then Sherian, my dearly departed "mom" who helped me understand football) I loved the Cowboys.

I think Joe Buck is my favorite sports announcer. He does a great job with baseball too.

North Pole, Alaska; Moscow, Russia and some city in Iceland were all in the 20s. Green Bay is -2

LOL

amanda
01-20-2008, 08:02 PM
I hurt watching them. A lot of them are in short sleeves for goodness sake. How do they NOT have frostbite. And, why doesn't Green Bay have an ENCLOSED stadium?

Hmmmmm......more like they just have tight-a@@'s in Green Bay who wouldn't fork over the money necessary to build an enclosed stadium. :-D

virgo
01-20-2008, 08:06 PM
Make that two sacks of Eli!!! YAY.

Whew. This is too tight of a game for me. I wish it was 20-6 instead of 10-6. But I'll take it.

Nah. They've got the money. They just renovated the stadium about five years ago. Added a bunch of seats and luzury boxes. The outside looks completely different than what it used to. They could have enclosed it then, if that's what they wanted to do. It just wouldn't be Lambeau if it was enclosed. And that would be a bad thing. :)

virgo
01-20-2008, 08:11 PM
