Okay, I know y'all are going to think I am really a psycho but I am going to tell you a story I heard. A person I socialize with began telling a story about calling and having to talk to the F.B.I. After listening, what I got out of this conversation, he believes his dentist has put some type of device in his tooth that is causing him to pick up voices (like transmissions of tv or radio). I was so shocked (that doesn't happen to me often) I was speechless! I will ask him more about what these transmissions are telling him tomorrow if I see him Tonight I realized I know that DamnYank on this forum so I am going to make the tooth filling guy tell me this story in front of him so y'all will know I am not 10-92 (crazy). I tell ya, I attract these kind of people-dang. Your friggin tooth talking to you :kekeke: That has to be one of the better ones I have attracted towards me :smt102.

I know which individual XC9 is talking about and I wondered many times about him being 10-92 (crazy). Yes even more so than XC9 is! :kekeke:

In the years that I have known XC9, I can vouch that there are not many times (if any) that I have ever seen XC9 shocked and I don't ever remember XC9 being speechless!

This is a typical urban myth. This myth first began when Lucille Ball (post I love Lucy) appeared on a talk show and told the host that she was picking up radio signals from her tooth fillings. Much speculation was then put forth by "scientists" who claimed that the filling and tooth enamel were acting as a receiver and the oral cavity (mouth) was performing much like a speaker.

Later, this myth was perpetuated in TV and movies (as shown in a previous post picturing Kent from the movie "Real Genius".

The hosts of Mythbusters (DSC) tested this myth and BUSTED IT COLD. Anyone who tells you that they are receiving radio signals in their mouth probably swallowed a radio.

But I think we can receive them in a way. You ever have a song in your head, at a certain point, turn on the radio, and that song is on, on almost the same word? That's happened to me more than once.

I've had that happen many times (especially with my personal CD player) but I'm inclined to believe that it's just coincidence - as much as I'd like to pretend/believe it's some psychic connection I have with my music. ;)

You know, XC9, when I was in high school at HHS, as seniors, we had to go to the auditorium and pick up our Midas Space Rings to use in decoding the final exams. They were in code. We had to decode them in order to take the tests. If you couldn't dedode them you were just screwed. Fortunately, I had already been trained in how to use my Midas Space Ring decoder, so I had no trouble. That's a true story.:eusa_liar

Okay, I have new information on this incident. The man finally told me the F.B.I. told him they couldn't help and he should just have his teeth pulled. Well, last night he walked up and said "guess what I have in my pocket", I was like, uuuhhmm I don't know, what? He pulled a denture out of his pocket and I said dang man put your friggin teeth in your mouth! After remembering what he told me a few weeks ago I realized he actually had his teeth pulled and got dentures. DamnYank and his family were sitting next to us and I couldn't tell them because I knew I would start laughing to hard and I did NOT want him to know I was laughing at him. Last night was his last night to be here, he is moving up north-bless his heart.

XC9 - I guess that explains your first game last night! ;)

I will verify that this dude is strange and that is the most polite term I can use! I didn't know he was leaving.....moving up north......nah,couldn't be the FBI moving him into the witness protection program!:smt102

Had his friggin teeth in his pocket. When he first said guess what I got in my pocket, my first thought was he had a gun :ohnoes:. I stayed calm though and was like -hell I don't know, whatcha got? :smt118  TEETH! Can't say I would ever have guessed it though. He did put them in his mouth when I told him to. :kekeke:

Sounds like he is possibly schizophrenic. Maybe he has some family that will recognize this and get him some help.

Why on the world would a dentist put a radio/receiver or transmitter in someone's mouth? Unless there was a benefit to the dentist or he worked fora government agency and this was a spy.

I know my dentist charges me for everything.

XC9, you deserve an A=+++++ for poise in unusual situations and around unusual people.:smt023

What a shame the guy had to pull his teeth and couldn't get help of whatever nature he needed.

XC9, I once had a short time roommate who thought people/ the government and Howard Hughes were after her. She was very paranoid even when I walked in and turned on the light sometimes. Stressful for me as well. I felt sorry for her.

See, that's how I felt too. Everybody kept telling me to stay away from him, but he joined a team I am on so it wasn't like I went out looking for him. My brother kept telling me to just ignore him but I felt sorry for him. A room of 80-130 people and no one talked to him. Heck, I talked to him and prayed for him too. My brother couldn't believe I got the guy a card because he was leaving MS I bet he cherishes that card because someone did do something nice. I made my brother sign the card and our other team mate was gracious enough to sign without even asking why I did this. I do feel sorry for people like this and my gut instinct told me not to be afraid. Hopefully he left Mississippi with good thoughts in his head about the people that live here. God bless him and all others that are like him.

I thought about this thread and got tickled....Hubby messed with the tv and I couldn't get channel 7 to come in clearly to watch Hillary's speech. We have sattelite and can't get locals through it so I have to depend on rabbit ears. I was just fussing because if I stood in one particular place, I could get a halfway decent picture and the sound would work. If I moved to the side, it quit working. If I moved back, it would work again. The eldest grandster was out of school today and we both got tickled. I just about had him convinced that I was "magic" because it wouldn't work when he moved in that particular spot, only when I did. I thought about this thread and wondered if he was not so crazy after all!
