Awesome picture on Flickr of a set of mountains 20 miles west of Salt Lake City. Wouldn't you like this to be your drive to work.

Ditto for me. When I first saw it, I thought of putting it on my desktop so I can gaze at it all during the day!

I lived in Salt Lake City for a semester. Those mountains are the last barrier before you hit the 60 miles of nothingness that are the salt flats.
I have some pics of the area around there, both east and west, and it really is a gorgeous place. The people were incredibly kind and welcoming too.

The photo taker was 20 mi. west of slc. the mts. are east of slc. the city sits at the base. the chain link fence to the left surronds part of the copper plant that is out there.

It's not floating, there's some poles at the bottom holding it up.

That is beautiful....I would say I want to go there, but I would rather go to a beach or island...I like warm weather!!!

Aren't there mountains to the south...out towards Tooele? It's been a few years since I drove that direction.

Nothing like that .Just humps. Park City is on top of those mts.
