I've never ran across a kind that was all that great. The peanut butter ones are alright but that's about the extent of it for me. They're nothing special to me.

Speaking of Girl Scout cookies...there was an article I read yesterday in the news talking about a girl scout being robbed of the money she made selling the cookies.
Me sitting there thinking what kind of sick bastard robs a child UNTIL I read the whole story.....:ohnoes:

Savannah — A Girl Scout who was robbed while selling cookies in her neighborhood led police straight to a 12-year-old suspect – who wrote her name and address on a cookie order form before the theft.
The Girl Scout, 10-year-old Nicole Grant, wasn't injured. She tearfully told police she was out selling cookies with a friend when a girl ordered cookies from her, then snatched Nicole's zip-top bag containing $28 in cookie money and fled on a bicycle.

"She's still a little shook up, but she's fine," said Chris Grant, the Girl Scout's father, adding that his daughter went back to school the day after she was robbed Sunday.

I'm with you, Dyates... the best ones to me are thin mints, and you can buy a cookie that's very similar in taste at most stores. they even sell one at dollar tree that's pretty good.

I don't get it... I hate when they're begging you at the door to the store. Ugh.

Samoas. Yes.

I had to sell GS cookies long years ago. Hated it. Buy them now out of a sense of obligation.

I just like cookies. I think part of the attraction with the GS cookies is you can only get them once a year. I love the Thin Mints, Tag-a-longs, Samoas and the short bread thingys...and I don't care what anybody says they're just not as good once they've been frozen. You gotta eat 'em right away.

Come on some of you ol'naysayers. They are for the Girl Scouts. I don't think a lot of people who don't have kids/grandkids in the Scouts understand that this is the only way these groups make money. Sure you can buy some in the grocery store, some maybe even better than what you can get from a Girl Scout - but have you really looked at one of these kids faces when they actually sell you a box. Priceless.

So, Elle - I'm sending you my order. :)

It may be me, but it seems like there used to be more cookies in a box years ago.

mmmmm..... cookies......

I've already got to buy from two girl scouts as it is. My niece is selling them, as well as a co-worker's daughter that caught me by surprise in the office. Lots of money... but well worth it.

Yep I am getting a few thin mints myself... I don't care too much for them but the spousal type person loves them... And if I get them for her she will love me even more... IS that selfish of me to do that because I like the attention she gives me when I do something right?

My hubby always buys GS cookies from a co-worker. I think it's great and funny because to him that's HIS way of helping me shop!

When hubby goes to the store for me we get fourteen bags of chips. Got to love them though.
