The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance has recommended the state Supreme Court issue a public reprimand and fine for Hattiesburg Municipal Judge Edwin L. Pittman Jr.
The commission found that Pittman, 45, in his capacity as a judge, signed orders related to a criminal defendant and then represented the defendant as an attorney in Forrest County Circuit Court.
The commission said Pittman's conduct violated the state constitution and the Code of Judicial Conduct of Mississippi Judges. It recommended the reprimand and a $100 fine.
Man, don't go so tough on him. He probably needs that $100 to go out to eat on.
