I slept until 9:30, then laid in bed for another 30 minutes watching the cats fight over who would have the prime sleeping spot at the foot of the bed. When I looked out I couldn't believe it, but I think I must've slept through the best part because now it's just barely coming down off and on.

That's our philosophy. The bikes are in the garage and the shop. Cars? That's what carports and driveways are for, right?

Our dogs' mother is a Malamute, so we were hoping the snow would awaken some of their Malamute instincts. They did like it.

I scraped a snowball off the top of the garbage can a minute ago and threw it toward the dogs. They perked up like, "Ohhh, we're gonna play fetch!" and went for the "ball." Of course it hit the ground and splattered and disappeared. They were so confused.

It's clear that some of you got much more snow than others of us. We had about 1-2", maybe, where the grass was high enough to keep it out of the water and mud. We didn't have enough to build even a dirty snowman.

It was my brother and nephews who made it, not me. I like the broom for the mohawk. Skateboard wheels...yeah that sounds about right. They just sent me the picture--one of my nephews is heavily into that.

My wife HAD to drive over to get the mail before we went to the store. We were taking separate cars so she had already taken off as I was still turning around in the drive way. Once I got my car straight and I was facing the road, I looked across the street and noticed her in our truck pointing down the hill next to our mailbox. I got out and ran over, she was fine (small hill) but she was stuck. I told her to drive forward because the little hill straightens up after a few feet. As she started to drive forward, the back end of the truck slid down the hill some more. She was perpendicular to the road but every time she stepped on the gas, the rear tires just spun in the snow and mud.
All sorts of people driving by stopped to help. Thanks to one old man with a rope and a young couple with a 4x4 they were able to pull her out of the mud.
I was ready to just leave the truck there until it all dried and we could just drive it out.

OMG. I am so glad she is OK. A bet it was a big scare though. There is not much worse than being in a car that you feel you have no control of...and once it hits that ice, you lose all control. It's very scary. :ohnoes:

Noway, thanks for starting this thread!

Luvia, I have built and seen 100's of snowmen, but that is the coolest one ever!!

Computer Dude, thanks for including pictures of horses!!!

SoMissTV, that was an awesome editing job on your movie!!!

Fish-Bait, the back 40 looks great!

Thank you all for the glimpse of your part of the world! I will take some more pictures from this part of the world as soon as the sun breaks the horizon next week.

Ya'll be safe down there and if you are driving on icy roads, please remember to drive slowly, not tailgate, leave plenty of room for stopping, don't ever slam on brakes and turn into a skid if you start to slide.... most of all, buckle up!

Sorry I ran out of room.

Virgo I thought you might like the kid with the Green Bay Snowman. The signs say Go Green Bay Packers on the left and on the right says This snow is for you Brett Farve! I thought this was just too cute.

Well he made the Hattiesburg American snow gallery. I was looking through it and came across this one. I just think he is the cutest kid and it was funny to me. I thought of Virgo and her kiddo when I saw this.

The ad is a lie! It snowed in 2001. I have pictures because I bought my house that year.

Raegan loved the snow. At first she was leary of it but after a few minutes was enamored with it. We had a nice amount in Ellisville, too.

I also remember snow in 2001......it was New Year's Eve 2001/ New Years Day 2002. It was my son's first New Years...he was a mere three months old. I have video and photographs from that night.
